My name is Kenton. I am a primary English teacher in Hong Kong, but before making that career change I was a chef that worked in a range of fine-dining, Michelin star restaurants. When I'm not teaching, I'm working out, eating, cooking, exploring or chilling! I am vegan, but it doesn't bother me if you aren't. I respect everyone's lifestyle and that's mine. I love travelling, though I've only been to 10 countries. Now that I'm a teacher and have longer holidays, I plan to amp that number up a significant amount!

I am positive, energetic and passionate about everything I do. I am a quiet and clean person, I like a good night's sleep so I can go wild the next day. I enjoy taking in the local experiences of the place and learning along the way. Live to learn, not learn to live.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

While I'm travelling, I really want to take in the local culture/experience of the way. There are customs and social cues that you can't pick up while staying at a hotel. I'd love to share my experience too about my travels. Meeting new people allows you to grow as an individual, and that's important to me! I always love meeting people because there is always something to learn.

Interests

I have been cooking ever since I could reach the stove. It is a strong passion of mine and love cooking for other people. Seeing people enjoy food is important to me.

I believe in being active and healthy. It's a great way to live functionally for the rest of your life. No better time to start than now!

I love travelling. Exploring new cultures is important to becoming a better person.

I love learning languages, I know English, Cantonese, Mandarin and Spanish (though my Spanish does really suck now).

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm a big geek. I love Star Wars, Marvel movies. But all time classics like Forrest Gump and Shawshank Redemption are my favourite movies ever!

Music... Anything with a really good beat. Pop, rap, RnB, I don't mind as long as it keeps the mood going.

Books. I love reading non-fiction, but I am a fan of ... I'm sorry in advance... Star Wars books haha! The writing is actually exceptional if you get beyond the premise of it being Star Wars.
