About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Yup.
ABOUT ME
As you might assess from my profile, I've been involved in this project for quite a while.
I'm a fun-loving individual. I love people that love life. I stay as active and inactive on here as I deem necessary. My basic objective is to show people what I think that this organization is all about. We all have different ideas of what this community should be.
Some think that you should be forced to live by the schedule of your host. IE: Sleep when I sleep and leave when I'm not home.; Some think that you should have little interaction with your host. IE: I'm a statistic junkie that wants references for the time I finally start to travel.; More think that you should be dedicated to following your host around town because they know what is best.
I don't care.
You didn't come to Chicago to visit me.
Perhaps we will get along famously. In that case, I will host you. I don't host people that I don't think will enjoy what I enjoy. It's a pretty simple formula.
If my aesthetic and demeanor don't explain it all, sounds likes we might not work.
Despite the way it usually will begin for new members, it isn't a popularity contest. Plenty of veterans will try and make it seem that way as well. When I was a new member I stayed with a new member that showed me what the potential of what this place is. Sure, I have have met plenty of people on here, and now they are friends. Many are now great friends.
Just don't be intimidated by people who are seasoned and don't be afraid of people that just started. I was new once too.
PHILOSOPHY
Benevolence.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I travel frequently. So, I seek out people who look like they'd like to be more active in the community but just haven't found the right opportunity. Then, I say hello.
ATTENTION ALL NEARBY TRAVELERS
My phone number is on my profile. Chances are high that I have free time while you're looking for something to do. I'm willing to meet everyone that is willing to meet me, so let me know. Meanwhile, I'll be typing.

Teach, Learn, Share
What do I wish I had known when I first joined the project?
You can do far more than host or surf!
Click that Events tab at the top menu and sniff around for an event near you. If you're extremely new and just signed up because you have travel plans in your future then local CS events are your best chance to start building your little network.
Don't see an event in your area? Then why not make one? After you know what you want to do, perform a CouchSearch for people in and surrounding your hometown. Now, begin creating your event. Post it! Then you can look at your cute little event page and MORE IMPORTANTLY, send out invitations. There is a button for sending invitations, and once you click it the option will appear send invitations out to a recent CouchSearch. After that, it will only be a matter of time before people begin telling you why they can't make it, but that's okay. People that you've never heard from will likely show and it'll be a great time. :D
