About Me

I love to travel (who doesn't, if you're on here) and I'm a big foodie. I've produced an adventure travel TV show - that never got bought and distributed, and starred in a Travel Channel Pilot - that never got picked up. So I'm basically a travel show failure! LOL. I do have a regular day job now (like everyone else) that pays the bills and funds my travel adventures.

I think that the best part about traveling are the people that I meet along the way. I tend to make friends easily, and although I like to travel solo, I'm never really alone, as I always find other travelers or locals to hang out with.

Some of my best experiences as I travel through the middle east have been having tea with strangers I meet on the streets. I usually wave and say hello (in arabic) and before I know it, I'm being invited in to have tea. Even though I only speak 10 words of Arabic, and my hosts maybe 10 words of English, we somehow manage to communicate.

I love to try new experiences, especially experiences that are local to the area I visit. I think the best way to understand a culture is by sharing a meal with locals, and eating local food. I love to cook as well, and would love to learn new recipes I can take back home.

My hobbies include anything outdoors, from hiking, camping, to skiing. I love watching US college football on TV. I also enjoy the arts, especially art gallerys, independent music, theatre, film, and photography.

PHILOSOPHY

"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." - Mark Twain

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've met a lot of wonderful people as I hitchhike through Syria and Lebanon. I've been invited to stay with a few of the locals I have met, and the experience have been wonderful. While I did not find them through couchsurfing, it is practically the same thing I guess.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to cook, and people tell me I am a good cook (I hope that's the truth, and they are not just being nice! haha) Cooking American, Italian or Asian dishes are my speciality, and I would be happy to teach!

I would love to learn to speak a different language, or play an instrument.
