ABOUT ME

I'm terrible at describing myself? I used to work security and have spent time working in a hospital and a prison. These experiences have given me a pretty black sense of humour and that's by Australian standards. If I ever say anything that offends you I will be genuinely sorry. I think I'm cynical on the large scale but I try to treat every individual with optimism until I have reason not to.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've been offline here for a while now but I would like to get involved again. I travel a lot and some of my best experiences have been while visiting friends who can give me a local's advice. If you're looking for a place to stay, someone to show you around or go for a day trip, or even just to catch up for a beer then hit me up and I'll see what I can do.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've been on and off this website for the last few years and I have hosted backpackers of various descriptions. It started with a friend of mine putting me onto friends of hers and them onto their friends and has escalated out from there... all up I've had probably a couple dozen people staying with me from periods of a couple of days to a couple of years.

Interests

I used to train MMA and I currently frequent the gym for weights training. I enjoy hiking and know some good places within reasonable driving distance for camping/hiking/day walking. I enjoy beer and do some brewing myself. I have a few 3d printers, mostly to support my dungeons and dragons addiction.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've been a lot of places and seen a lot of things. One thing I'll vouch for (and maybe I'm biased as an Australian) is Uluru. There was definitely something magical about that place... going in you think 'yeah, it's a big rock, that'll be cool' but then you get there and you're like 'wow... that's a big rock, that's pretty cool' stop by and check it out and I hope you'll understand what I mean.

I'm a know a little about a lot sort of guy so I can probably pass on random facts about things. My English is normally pretty good so if you want someone to correct your grammar without even having to ask I'm your guy.
