About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Explore the world, understand it as much as I can and make friends on the way by sharing our stories and culture.

ABOUT ME

Local leader of the Czech Pirate Party in Brno, since 10/2022 also member of Brno City Council.

I'm open-minded and curious about everything. Most of my free time in the city I spend dancing (used to do ballroom dances, now rather salsa, bachata, zouk and west coast swing), riding a bike, climbing and playing guitar. But I love and need to get out to the nature for several days every now and then, just to leave the everyday's bustle, relax and recharge. I also love skiing but due to our changing climate there's not so much snow in the winter any more. Meeting new people and cultures and getting to know new countries is what I appreciate the most about CS, because I truly enjoy it.

PREVIOUSLY

Around 27 years I was ... PhD student of physical geography at Masaryk University in Brno where I specialize in solar radiation climatology. I also work at CzechGlobe, Czech Academy of Sciences, where I handle meteorological data. I'm active in our local activist group promoting bike commuting in my city and as a local politician trying to achieve a bike-friendly city. I help to spread the facts about undergoing Climate Crisis through our web www.faktaoklimatu.cz and cooperation with local Fridays For Future group.

PHILOSOPHY

Where there is a will, there is a cycleway.

"When you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it." Paulo Coelho

"Everything is possible for him who believes." Mark 9:23

"There is a theory which states that if ever anyone discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. There is another theory which states that this has already happened." Douglas Adams

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Oh (wo)man, I can't pick up just one ... This world is an amazing place to live in and every trip I make is great in its own way!

One of the most amazing things I've done was definitely visiting Japan for two weeks, it was really wonderful experience.

Another crazy, extraordinary, great and enriching thing was a journey on bike along the Danube river with one friend of mine. We went 1250 km in 14 days and met so many so nice people that I could be talking about it whole evening! :-D :-)

Another trip was my hitchhiking north to see the Northern Lights: 7 days on the road, 2 days chillin'out, 13 cars, 2000 km, lot of new experiences and contacts ... terrible weather and no Northern Lights ... but anyway: great trip! :-)

Actually the whole Erasmus Exchange in Norway was great! Hitchin' in Norway the second time. Hitchin' to Istria. Two Erasmus projects in Latvia and Lithuania. Hitchin' around Ireland and Northern Ireland. Going to Svalbard. Hiking over several mountain ridges and some mountains. Climbing Dachstein via St. Johan ferrata. Multi-pitch climbing in the Tatra mountains and other climbing trips. Cycling from Czech Republic to the sea in Italy over the Alps ... Science expedition to ANTARCTICA !!!

Many more I can't remember right now and many more to come I hope! I'll love to share them with you when we meet :-)

Teach, Learn, Share

I can explain you what "solar radiation climatology" is about, but you'd probably fall asleep ASAP, haha ... but if you're interested in how our planet Earth works, ask me and I'll tell you what I know ;-) Also I can tell you that GIS stands for Geographic Information System and why is it cool and VERY important in today's world :-)

I'm able to teach to play the electric, acoustic or classic guitar as I'm playing it and also some basics of standard and latin dances as I just love dancing (waltz, tango, Viennese-waltz, quickstep, slowfox, samba, rumba, chacha, jive, paso doble and also salsa, zouk and bachata). Also climbing and skiing (both downhill and cross-country) and some basics of acroyoga :-)

I love to share a pint of good local beer or a glass of wine during an interesting conversation.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A good conversation over a good beer/wine/whatever we both like, a meal which I can cook for you, or a nice walk around the town or even better in the nature :-)
