ABOUT ME

My name is Kerrigan McCarthy, my life is led by seeking and living wisdom, story, beauty, love, simplicity and most of all breathtaking music. In all my years of life I have found such things to be quite plentiful and in a state of constant expansion. Music and writing are two activities that occupy a vast amount of my time since I truly believe that music and writing have the ability to harness community and connection, internally and externally. These forms of expression are what help me stay in flow and maintain a healthy and happy mind, body and soul.

PHILOSOPHY

I live my life leading with love, appreciation and respect. I am excited to be on this planet since there is so many cool and interesting people and things to learn about. I believe that every little thing is for my benefit and I go into every relationship ready to benefit those around me as much as possible. This world has been pretty fantastic to me so far and I am psyched to explore more of it.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am fresh into the couchsurfing world and ready to return some warm hellos.

My first couchsurfing experience was in Montpellier and my friends and I were hosted by an awesome guy who did not have much space but made it work for us and for that we are very grateful! He and his friends were so welcoming and showed us the ins and outs of the city. Their kindness solidified a future return!

When I was recently in Valencia my buddy and I were introduced, through a family friend in the States, to a family who lived next to the city center of Valencia and wow was that an experience I will never forget. Even though it was not through couchsurfing it was still a similar situation but it could not have gone better! The family was filled with so much love and immediately made us feel at home. They fed our traveling bellies quite well and made sure we were always set to have a grand time. The Gonzalez family is now extended family to me and one of the sons and his fiancée even offered for me to live with them next year when I told them that I wanted to learn fluent spanish. This experience is just one example in my life of how widespread love and connection are.

Music, writing, art, exercise and conversation are activities that occupy much of my time. Music and writing are certainly my biggest two since during my free time I am search far and wide for new tunes to take my breath away and writing lyrics to match those tunes.

I love jazz, blues, hip-hop, folk, electronic, classical, instrumental, and many more sub-genres. I love lyrics that paint me a picture, tell a story, make me think, have rhythmic wordplay and help me get to better know the artist.
