BALANCE:) I am building my practice as a financial advisor and enjoying settling into happy domestication with my girlfriend.

ABOUT ME

In general, I am outgoing around people, while I am not actually a social butterfly (I prefer to spend time on my own or with close friends than socializing in big groups).

I am a total (immature) goof once you get to know me!

I dabble in spirituality, and am not religious. I'm of the 'everything is energy' mindset and I believe we can send out and receive the energies we choose, if we're open to it.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I started out on CS as a surfer in South America in the fall of 2009. Back in Vancouver now, I participate in some CS Free Hugs events several times a year. My girlfriend and I are generally quite busy with work as financial but we might get back into hosting CSers when time permits!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I joined CS in the summer of 2009. My first surf was in Santiago, Chile for 4 days and it was great getting to experience the city a bit better than by just staying in a hostel with other travellers. I look forward to hosting and surfing again in the coming years.

I am a huge sport motorcycling enthusiast - I have a Yamaha R6. I love dogs and other pets. Am always up for trying new foods or just enjoying old favourites (*Note: I am NOT a cook, I much prefer EATING than MAKING food!!). Love the occasional adrenaline rush of stuff like bungee jumping (and it's a goal of mine to bungee jump everywhere I travel where it's offered), skydiving, ziplining, paragliding etc.

I'm usually up for lounging on a couch and watching a funny movie or just hanging out...

I do like to party sometimes too, although I left my craziest partying days behind at university :)

Movies: can't go wrong with a comedy, yes that includes chick flicks, I love them! I like some psychological thrillers too. No scary movies! I have been known to curl up on the couch and watch a little Finding Nemo or similar other, I'm a dork :) I love the Friends series on tv, as well as The L Word and most recently, Criminal Minds.

Music: I seem to go through phases, I loved country for a while, then house, then Sarah McLachlan-type stuff... I kind of love Lady Gaga.

Books: Don't read too much for leisure these days but I will admit I kind of liked the Twilight series haha. Sometimes I like a slightly more academic read; I'm fascinated by the topics of behavioural finance, psychology, and sexuality.

I'm going to cheat and put TWO!!

1. Las Islas Flotantes on Lake Titicaca, Peru in 2009! The floating islands BLEW MY MIND; the indigenous people have built their islands, homes, and boats completely out of reeds. Plus, I thoroughly enjoyed their joke about the lake straddling the Peru/Bolivia border: The Peruvians get the Titi and the Bolivians get the caca.

2. I had my picture taken with the Dalai Lama in 2003 in Ladakh, India while I was participating in a volunteer service project at a monastery. Just being in his presence was pretty powerful, I really value that picture!!
