ABOUT ME

I am 32 years old, have two adorable kids and work on establishing my place in life. Last year I started my own practice as a health practitioner in Jena - my most beloved place on this planet.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe in Karma, that everything you do has an effect on others and that all that matters is how you decide what you do with your abilities, gifts and experiences. If you stay true to yourself and have trust in the universe, you will find your way and happiness.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love to meet people and hear their story. Till now I often traveled using Youth Hostels - but now I want to try something new. I have not much space to offer, but an open ear and healthy food and curiosity to the people I will get to know.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Not much yet - but heard a lot from friends about it. I am looking forward to it.

Interests

I enjoy taking pictures. I just recently got a new camera and experiment now a lot with it. I love being out in nature, hiking and collecting herbs and fruits for food and medicine. If I have time I sew Mediaeval clothes (especially from the Viking age - which is my favorite historical age).

Music, Movies, and Books

I spend a lot of time reading. If I wouldn't be passionate about health care - I would be a natural born book seller :-) My mom has a book store and I spend as much time there as I can spare (selling or reading). I love good crime stories with a philosophical and inventive background, like the Dr. Siri -stories or the books from Qiu Xiaolong, Arne Dahl, Stieg Larsson, but also Ursula LeGuin, Dagmar Trodler, Patrick Rothfuss, the Harry Potter books, Tolkien and so many more.

I am a notorious cinema visitor. Recently watched Life of Pi, the Hobbit, Skyfall and will go to see Seven Psychopaths, Django Unchained, Cloud Atlas. I cannot even name all of my favorite movies. There are so many and it depends on my mood which one I need to watch next. Some I found impressive: Salmon Fishing in the Yemen, In Bruges, The Artist, ... For me as a German it is often hard to find a cinema that broadcasts movies without the synchronization. I prefer the English original sound.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Iceland - this country is amazing. The landscape, the people, the trolls and fairies. Being there is like being in the Great Sagas of the Vikings. I never saw the Uluru, but i am pretty sure the Herthubreith is getting close to it.

I start to get to know some Shaman traditions and I am impressed about the power and pureness that I already experienced.

I got my passion for alternative medicine from my biology studies and through the birth of my second child, which was a wonderful experience in a little house at a lakeside with an amazing Midwife at my side.
