ABOUT ME
My name is Kesi and I quit my job in NYC to globetrot. July 2015 I began my around the world trip. In my first year abroad: I visited Europe - where I worked as a hostess on a boat in Croatia for a month, Central America - were I volcano boarded, Peru - hiked the Inca Trail with my 66 year old mother, Tokyo, Morocco, and Australia, NZ SE Asia.
My favorite part of the world to backpack in is East Africa. Kenya, Mozambique, Uganda, and Tanzania are all special places in my heart.
I always have a smile on my face. I'm a very easy going person and I like to keep people happy. I don't dwell on the small things, and always like to have a positive attitude.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've attended CS meet-ups in NYC and abroad.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I couchsurfed while I was traveling by myself in Europe in 2012. All positive experiences. While in NYC I hangout with couchsurfers. Unfortunately I can't host anyone in NYC because I live with 6 roommates, and all of them don't agree about couchsurfing.
Interests
I love meeting new people, playing sports, drinking whiskey, and my guilty pleasure is reality television. I also enjoy going out and dancing.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
1) In Halong Bay, Vietnam I stayed on a private island and at night time I went for a swim in the water with some friends and there were bioluminescent plankton that lit up in the water. It was really cool to watch the plankton light up around us.
2) I went to Brazil for a school trip on social impact. One day we went to the country side to help build houses with Habitat for Humanity. Although I do not know any Portuguese, it was amazing how easy it was to connect with the locals, who did not know English, as we helped build the house together. We shared many laughs and enjoyed each others company even though we could not understand one another's language.
Teach, Learn, Share
I was a varsity college track athlete, so I can teach you good running form :)
