About Me
If I wanted to present myself in a fancy way, I would say that I am a sort of a "life-artist", a "walking sculpture of absurdity". However I prefere to be humble so here goes:
I am basically a programmer working in Vilnius (Lithuania's capitol city), but living in another one - Kaunas, which is in Lithuania as well, but around 100 km away.
I commute every day by train and I do really enjoy it. Why? Because I love travelling. Every year or so I tend to embark on a "procedural journey", which basically means that I travel with a direction (North, East, South, West), but without an actual destitation.
As for my interests, I enjoy bird-spotting (boring I know!), thinking of different out of the box ways to spend my free time, as well as books (from science fiction to philosophy), movies and tv shows (Battlestar Galactica - my favourite) and feeling of "freedom" (whatever that is).
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
While travelling I tend to bump into other travelers or passers by and I have yet to find a person with bad intentions. I think travelling is one of the best ways to broaden our minds. It's in our code - we are old hunter-gatherers who stopped and have forgotten the joys of a journey. But people who do travel - haven't. And they're the best people to socialize and discuss various topics with.
You might also never know when one could expect a new wonderous destination by simply meeting a person from somewhere you have never been.
