Hi there!

My name is Kevin and I was born in Vietnam, grew up in Southern California, and most recently lived in San Francisco.

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

I've always been enamored by the concept of couch surfing (I've slept a whole summer on my aunt's couch, and then a while after I spent a month of sleeping on friends' couch while in between houses); and my last job was at the mainstream version of Couchsurfing. I love the idea of moving around, carrying only what you need, and being comfortably uncomfortable in a new place. I adore the simple lifestyle (like sleeping on a couch), and would gladly trade luxury for raw and eye-opening experiences. I believe one of the reasons we are all here is to learn about the world and each other. At its core, I think it's amazing that we can feel at home in someone else's home.

I don't get to host often because of my living situation, but in the short window that I do, I think it's a great opportunity to focus on two things that I'm hoping to grow in: being more empathetic to people, and being more hospitable.

兴趣

I was a boy scout when I was younger, so I very much enjoy the outdoors and nature. I have fond memories of camping and backpacking, and hoping to get back into it.

I also like staying physically active and bike around 20 miles every day and swim recreationally a few times a week. To me, swimming and biking are the closest things to experiencing flight, and I like the idea of movement powered by your own strength. I started getting into rock climbing on and off, but I am not very good. I also enjoy playing and watching basketball.

I'm a big animal person, and simply love dogs. I enjoy science and philosophy and learning about how things work.
