About Me
Heeeyoo!
I'm brand spanking new to couch-surfing but have heard its fab tales of yore by many friends now, I just had to give it go!
I'm currently travelling around New Zealand with my girlfriend Leanne. We've travelled around much of Europe and Southeast Asia and have many a funny tale to tell. We're both Irish, tefl-certified musicians with a mean guitar/ukulele game. We've a few funny songs about our travels we love to share.
I'm super passionate about writing music and am currently 7/8ths the way through a multi-genre musical I've written.
I'd love to meet you and hear what you're passionate about too :-)
Much love,
Kevin.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Been recommended by a number of friends. It seems like a great way to meet new people, learn about the area you're in from the locals and bolster your travelling for cheap.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music - everything from Debussy's arabesques, Annette Hanshaw's old jazz standards, Queen's bouncy rock anthems, Chic's funky groove-alongs, Daft Punk's phasing arpeggiators, Fleet Foxes starry harmonies. I can't draw a picture of how much I love so many different types of music.
Movies/TV - Big Lord of the Rings buff. Game of Thrones conspiracy-enthusiast. Love Wes Anderson, Baz Luhrmann and Quentin Tarantino as directors.
Books - I'm the slowest reader you'll ever meet. I read Harry Potter through my teens. Re-reading Lord of the rings at the mo. Plans to read Game Of Thrones.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In Java, Indonesia I saw my first volcano - the blue sulphur flames of Mt. Ijen. 3 km trekking up the mountains and down into the crater in the dark (it was a sunrise trip). The workers there go right into the midst of the smoke and chip away 80kg of sulphur to bring all the way back out of the crater on their backs! If that doesn't give you some perspective on life I dunno what will (maybe I was high on sulphur smoke too?).
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach music. Guitar, ukulele, piano, singing or even just an open chat about music and writing songs. I'm also a keen cook. I moved away from my mammy's fantastic cooking at 18 so have had build up a nice little repertoire of dishes. While your guest, I'd be happy to cook up a storm for the house or simply make a killer cup of tea for everyone :p
What I Can Share with Hosts
Maybe a couple funny stories, hopefully good conversation, return of the hospitality with cooking, a wee music jam or singsong if you're up for it :)
