About Me

Hello! I'm on here to try and offset the loneliness that commonly accompanies the joys of traveling. I'm very respectful, grateful, easy-going and clean. I love the process of becoming friends, and I have a good sense for when I am overbearing or underwhelming. Often, the most memorable friends that I miss frequently are the bonds that are created when I'm a stranger in a strange land.

Let's be friends!

My status is currently listed as "Not Accepting Guests" because my studio in LA is tiny, and doesn't even have a couch.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Hostels and hotels are great in their own ways, but there's nothing like seeing a city through the eyes of a local. The insight is golden!

Interests

I love films, I create them as a cinematographer/director of photography. My palette is more attuned to the global level, rather than the devolved Hollywood flavors.

The only passion that has stemmed itself longer is my love for music, Rock N' Roll in specific. I've loved David Bowie since I bought Station to Station when I was 16, but ever since he died, his influence has cut so much deeper, like a brand upon my brain!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Deerhunter, David Bowie, 60s/70s Rock N' Roll, P-Funk, Bob Dylan, Zappa, CAN, Broadcast, Tame Impala... I tend to spin albums on repeat for months at a time for maximum absorption.

Films: Terence Malick, Nicholas Winding Refn, Von Trier, Agnes Varda, Tim & Eric, Godard, Luis Bunuel, Woody Allen, Spike Jonze, etc. etc.

Books: Confederacy of Dunces, hands down!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I spent 4 months of 2015 in Vietnam, serving as director of photography for two films there. I had to learn how to command the crew in another language, mostly through using local ...obscene language.
