About Me

CURRENT MISSION

See as much live performance as possible!

ABOUT ME

Hey there! My name is Kevin! I split my time between Poughkeepsie and Cleveland, and I'm really learning to love both places. I enjoy traveling, seeing new places, going to live performances, and trying new foods.

PHILOSOPHY

I try to learn something new every day, and to always be reading at least two books at a time. I also try not to turn down new experiences. I'm always up to try something new!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm unfortunately unable to host in Cleveland, but I make a wonderful tour guide!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None yet! But I'm definitely a super friendly person and fun to be around.

Interests

I'm interested in a lot of things. I'm very interested in theater, performance art, and music. I also love a good museum. In addition to the performing arts, I spend a lot of time engaged with gender studies, urban theory, and sociological issues. I really love learning and gaining new perspectives in life, so CouchSurfing is a great way for me to learn new things about the world!

Music, Movies, and Books

MUSIC:
I like pretty much all music; ranging from opera to 19th century hymns from the American south to top 40 to polka.

MOVIES:
Not so into horror and violence. Especially interested in funny movies.

BOOKS:
Too many to list, but some of my favorite writers: Judith Butler, Young Jean Lee, Sarah Vowell, Sarah Ruhl, Joyce Cho, Mac Wellman, Scott Herring, David Halperin, David Sedaris, David Rakoff, William Shakespeare, Annie Baker

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most exciting thing I've done was performing slam poetry in a very large concert hall. It was absolutely terrifying, but rewarding in the end.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm really great at making chocolate chip pie, and am really great at discussing contemporary art-making practice. I'm mostly helpful in the "esoteric" knowledge-offering, but I also am really good at box office software.
