ABOUT ME

I am a person who loves people. I am a highly sociable person. I am a student living a busy life and love to be outdoors. I take pride in trying to be knowledgeable about the things I believe in but I love it when I learn new things. I am forever looking for new experiences and ways to spend my time.

PHILOSOPHY

That the core of life is to love, and therefore people are the meaning of life. That there is a profound joy in new experience and that we should strive to make each day new and exciting. I try to allow myself to be compulsive and to live life with little regret. I know that I will always regret the things in life that I chose not to do much more than the things I did choose to do.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I haven't been able to participate as of yet but I would love to be able to contribute by hosting people when I can as well as show people the awesome things that are in northern ontario. I think that CS is a great way to not only make traveling more affordable but have great cultural experiences.

Interests

Outdoor Adventure: I am taking outdoor adventure leadership and love getting outside. The core of my skills lie in canoeing and backpacking but I love any outdoor pursuit.

Music: I am a guitar player and music lover of all of it's forms. I write some of my own stuff as well and go to concert when I can.

Athletics: I am a rower on LU's varsity team and this takes up a nulk of my time with morning training during the season and daily workouts in the winter. Just started a little over a year ago so I am working my way up to being competitive.

Discussion/Debate: I love an intelligent conversation that really makes you think and like having extended dinners that last long past my bedtime due to the long conversations we have.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: A good psychological thriller or comedy is where the bulk of my interest lies. Movies like Unbreakable and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

Music: My largest interest at the moment is in folk music but I also enjoy a lot of rock, rap, jazz and funk. I am open to any music and will not shut things out that might broaden my musical taste.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I would probably chalk this one up to a 12 day rafting trip I took up in the southern Yukon/northern BC in my youth. The trip was on the Alsek river and included amazing landscapes, iceberg filled glacial lakes and eating lunch with a grizzly bear grazing 100 meters away.
