About Me

I love adventures! In the city, mountains, water, anything. I enjoy hiking, snowboarding, rock climbing, surfing, and mountain biking. I also enjoy a good conversation and fun company!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I really enjoy meeting people through travel as they tend to shape my experience in amazing and unique ways. I believe meeting locals allows a better understanding of the place on a concrete and personal level. It also allows me to share a bit about myself and to create a cultural exchange. Also, people who travel are typically just really cool people!

Interests

I love hearing about people's experiences and stories because they help inspire wonder and learning. I love a good adventure and love to share it with people who are excited about getting out there.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My final adventure in New Zealand involved scaling two volcanoes, gazing across an emerald lake, and feeling the heat from thermal vents across 20+ km of hiking/mountaineering on Tongariro Crossing in the middle of winter all in one day.
I only had one day I could attempt this and that one day ended up being a beautiful blue bird day, the only nice day of that whole week. I rented crampons, a helmet, and and ice axe and got to the trail head via my hostel's shuttle. I had a certain time limit due to the shuttle pick up at the other end so I had to consider my time limitations. Starting before daybreak, I raced ahead of the groups of people and managed to tackle two volcanoes, Mt. Ngauruhoe and Mt. Tongaririol, solo. Hiked for 8+ hours that over volcanoes, across frozen plains, through thermal vents, and around stunning lakes. One hell of a day that I felt lucky to have experienced.

Teach, Learn, Share

I would be happy to share any tips or experiences about my travels backpacking, hitchhiking, or traveling to any of the places I have been. I could also teach you what I know about my favorite outdoor activities such as rock climbing, snowboarding, etc... I love to learn new skills so if you have any you'd like to share, I'd love to learn.
