Overview
About Me
I am a Yooper, and I've lived in and around Marquette, MI nearly my whole life. I'm into writing poetry, hip hop, and have scrapped several novel ideas, but still hold on to one or two. I've been working as a cook in different restaurants around Marquette and Munising for the last 9 years. I've had my fill of this occupation and would like to truly commit to becoming a successful writer (whatever that means). I love the outdoors and camp as often as I can. I love dogs, and have raised/trained a chocolate lab of 9 years; I have also taken in several pit bull mixes from friends who couldn't have them, and also helped rescue a couple from the orphanage and feral lives. I've socialized these dogs to the point where they can be re-homed with loving families. I'm currently "homeless" and traveling to find my place in this country/world...
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've pretty much lived in the U.P. my whole life and have never traveled West. So this spring I plan on hitchhiking across the country. My first stop will be Minneapolis, MN because there is a bunch of music that has recently influenced me pouring out of that city. From there I will be heading to Washington state to stay with my aunt, then end up in Seattle for a bit. Before winter, I plan on making my way down the coast to California.

Music, Movies, and Books
Love most music, but prefer local original stuff. I don't really get into movies that much anymore, but I'm willing to check out something that is inspiring. I consider myself a writer and I'm usually reading three books at a time, but Chuck Palahniuk is my favorite author.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I helped organize a poetry group with my roommate, which currently still meets every month in the living room of my previous house called Thu Beat. I still stay very much connected to this and hope the idea alone influences people to start their own groups and bring more like-minded people into a comfortable space to share their written/spoken art.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Poetry, songs, stories, and I don't mind lending a hand if you need some work done around your pad...
