ABOUT ME

I'm a 30 year old Gay male dancer/pilates instructor. I currently live in Rozelle Sydney and my dancing tours me around Australia on a regular basis. I'm traveling the globe for 2 months visiting areas in Thailand, Turkey, Croatia, Spain and the USA. I'll be taking yoga for a week in Koh Phangan, sailing Croatia and driving to mexico on the wrong side of the road.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe that travelling grounds you and experiencing other cultures, seeing the way others live is extremely up lifting. I aim to strike a balance between stability and freedom all the time. I believe if you want anything in life, plan, take action and it will be achieved. I also believe without arts and creativity the world would be a dull and boring place.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm travelling across the globe for 2 months and I would love to get to know destination through the eyes of a local. I'm easy to talk to, funny, curious, love cooking and am helpful around the house. Like wise if you were to take a journey to Sydney where I'm from I'd be more than happy to meet for a coffee, show you around the city and take a trip to our beautiful beaches or our national parks.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm new to couch surfing but as a professional dancer I've had to move around Australia, UK and USA where ever my work has taken me. For example I'm currently working on a dance project in Melbourne for 6 weeks so I'm staying my friend Alice's Family in a western suburb called Yarraville. I did a similar stay when I toured to Brisbane last year and crashed at my friends Elise and Reece's place in Holland Park West. With my line of work I've also been on the road touring such parts of Australia including Tropical Northern Queensland and South Australia. I'm used to rolling with the punches, realising that regional towns don't offer much of a night life so BBQ's,beer and charades became all the tour rage...

Interests

Dance, Arts, Comedy, politics (to a degree) cheap eats, wine bars, fine dining, yoga, pilates, bike riding, the great outdoors, the history of middle America, the spanish language, alternative dance parties, indian cooking, Italian cooking.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love Beyonce, Sia, Florence and the machine, Lady Hawk, Marina and The Diamonds, Emeli Sande but most of all I love Robyn! I'm currently watching The Walking Dead, True Blood, Girls and American Horror Story! If I read, my preference is alto biography/biography about people in the music industry and dance history pioneers or travel books. I'm currently reading a book about one mans return to middle america and his travel across the country. My favourite film of all time 'Long Kiss Good Night' I like all of the Tarantino flicks. I also love old school Tim Burton Films Edward Scissor Hands and Big Fish.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One amazing thing! wow thats tricky! I suppose the one thing that stands out the most is working for a cruise liner as a dancer for 5 months. We roamed around the Caribbean. The Caribbean isn't really a typical Australian holiday destination because we have south east asia on our door step.. So it felt like I was uncovering a really remote part of the world..lol even thou thousands of americans go there every year. Every island was different, so much poverty in the downtown ports and yet so environmentally sunning. I loved how one place could be a desert island with cactus's and romantic pink sky's at dusk. Other islands where complete rain forests from head to toes with a constant flux of tropical weather. Quickly I loved skiing in the vast forever unfolding Canadian rockies and I really love Canadian people in general. My favourite European cities so far have been Edinburgh (Scotland) and Brugge in (Belgium) and my most loved parts of Australia to date is Cape Tribulation (Where the rain forest meets the great barrier reef) in far north Queensland and Mclaren Vale wine region (Where the vineyards meet the sea) in South Australia.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm a certified Pilates instructor: Mat Pilates, Equipment, rehab and fitness. I can also teach Ballet and Contemporary Dance/Choreography. I would be more than happy to share and teach any of these things to someone who is interested in trying them, wants to learn more about their body or is currently practicing and wants to exchange some ideas. I Practise Yoga along side my roommate in sydney (Cec) who is a beautiful yoga teacher. I would love to practice yoga alongside a new friend over seas if the opportunity came up.
I'm currently learning Spanish from my dear friend Kristen.. When I'm in Spain I want to learn as much Spanish as I can. I want to learn as much about Spanish Culture as I can while I'm there. I also love food and cooking so anytime I can spend in the kitchen making food and sharing a meal would be an awesome experience..
