ABOUT ME

I live in a small off-grid cabin in rural northern California. I do a lot of land maintenance, forestry, permaculture, wildcrafting and hiking. I have trouble describing myself.
I can fix almost anything.
I love good beer, coffee, chocolate, baked goods, and all kinds of other decadent chow. I also only eat wild meat I've processed myself, so for ease you could call me a vegetarian. Of the least-strict kind imaginable.
I have zero problem with whatever you're cooking/eating—I'll work around it. However. If you're a zealous vegan and anxious to convert a surfer, I'm not the surfer you're looking for.
I love animals, in manageable numbers (unless you live on a farm, in which case I'd love to hang out with all the critters).
Excess neatness makes me nervous (I'll never square the magazines with the edge of the coffee table), and I'm also stoked about reasonable cleanliness.

Interesses

I'm a writer, outdoorsperson, primitive skills practitioner, homebrewer, climber, skier, and generalist. I do some arborist-type work, but I'm not certified. I like fermenting/pickling/preserving wild foods. I'm not much for TV or pop culture, but love books.
