ABOUT ME

Musician from North Carolina, USA, currently traveling in Italy and Spain on an ancestral journey.

Note that my name is actually Samara, not Searra, which was a name I used to go by but I can’t figure out how to change it on my profile. Oops.

I am a songwriter and play multiple instruments (guitar, mandolin, bass, piano, sing) and I LOVE to meet and play with other musicians when I travel. On this trip I’m hoping to meet some Italian musicians and exchange some songs.

Would love to meet some locals and make new friends, not interested in romantic dates though porque tengo un novio :)

I also love spending quiet time in nature and going on hike adventures. Swimming in the sea and wild rivers, bicycling the countryside, etc.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I used to use couch surfing a lot when I was younger - did my share of traveling and being hosted, and then for a period had my own apartment I hosted folks in. Then I didn’t use the website for a long time, but just reactivated my account as I’m traveling outside the country for the first time in ten years! Currently at home my living situation is not conducive to hosting surfers… hope to live somewhere again where I can return the favor!

I can teach guitar! and some other musical-related things. Also experienced and passionate about gardening and edible landscaping.
I know a bit about plant ID and foraging for edibles, but am always wanting to learn more about that, and anything else you are willing to teach me.
I'm also very passionate about permaculture, living in communities, fermenting things, and working towards self-sufficiency.
I love learning how stuff works, and how to make stuff.
