About Me
Dear all,
Greetings!!!
I was a college student in the United States, doing a summer job in Brussels, Belgium when I started Couchsurfing. I've met so many amazing people and made lifelong friendships. Now as an ex-Uber and ex-European Parliament serial entrepreneur, I've decided to switch industry to private equity and consulting via an MBA program at INSEAD (Fountainbleu, France, and Singapore) starting in January 2019.
I speak English with an American accent and I am interested in learning about different people and their life experiences. I don't like to get drunk, and never have I smoked. So please don't force me to do those things.
Although I am still a student, I find myself enjoy talking to "old" people, not necessarily "old" but rich in life experiences and world knowledge - who are usually older than me. Meanwhile, I love spending time with people who are fun to be with. After all, life is short.
I have been to a lot of places. When I was a kid, I was born and raised in the hinterland of China. Unlike Beijing and Shanghai, my city is relatively small but interesting to live in. I fell in love with traveling after I got accepted to the college. The summer before my freshman year, I traveled to 15+ cities throughout China by myself, to visit my friends, make new friends, and observe the society. In the next few years, I researched anthropology in Malawi (in Africa), ran experiments in psychology labs, represented for a German company in China, sold touchscreen monitors, started 3 startups, mentored high school kids, designed governance structure for a blockchain, outsourced for Uber and worked with legislative branches of the US and the EU governments.
I can speak English, Chinese, and Thai and am learning both Spanish and Indonesian. I hope that I'll be able to find a host family in Indonesia that speaks the local language. :)
