About Me

Hey, I'm 26, come from north London. Make great tea obviously and can entertain you by speaking the worst English you've ever heard. Literally I meet people travelling and they are correcting my pronunciation of English words (sorry what!?). So I'm travelling through Canada with a work permit for the next two years then, who knows where on to next.
I'm a city boy but have always loved the outdoors and am looking to do as much sports, hiking and camping as possible.
I've just finished 2 years furniture making and 3 years historic wood carving so while travelling I hope to get involved in something related, or atleast hands on. Hey, if you need a shelf put up and have the tools I'd be happy to help out ;)
Solo travelling so keen to meet up.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have a frugal side so I would love to do this as cheap as possible (that doesn't mean I won't buy a round or chip in for communal petrol or food) But also I really want to meet people as I travel, however I think travelling can sometimes lead to meeting other backpackers who are great but I would like to get to know the locals and the culture of the area I'm in. So staying with people who are form the area I'm travelling through is ideal for that.

I'm always happy to explore nice places to eat, check out pubs/bars, go see music and have a night out. (OUT OUT too ) I'm easy going, tidy, a good cook and basically just want to meet people and explore the wilderness as well as some new city vibes.

So yeah, I'll leave some stuff for actually meeting haha.

Interests

99% vegan 99%vegetarian, I just like to try things out sometimes :) but I'm a conscious consumer, but don't worry I'm not preachy or judgemental at all.
Into climbing, yoga, not football surprisingly even though Ive lived 2 mins from Arsenal stadium most my life, outdoor sports, alternative living and diets. I love films, reading, science and nature, politics and massive live music fan. I'd love to learn more about agriculture, permiculture. Interested in learning more about eco living and sustainability. I'm bad at learning languages but I like t try when travelling. Honestly I enjoy hard work, manual labour and building things. Doing things with hands and body gives me a great sense of satisfaction, I like creating and finishing things.

Music, Movies, and Books

Sorry to start with this but my younger self won't allow me not to. Lord of the rings!! All 90s action films, anything with Bruce Willis or Arnold Swaz.. haha. British cult films, dramas, horror and thrillers, foreign films. I read biographies most recently MLK and Ghandi, I like human science books and sociological research books. (Yuval Noah Harriri and Steven Pinker) feminist books (I'm trying) fiction and science fiction too. I also listen to a lot of podcasts (Joe rogan, Russell Brand, SYSK, Serial and more science stuff) Music.. well I hate answering that, used to be a massive raver, D'nB and dubstep but I've been brought up with folk, blues, rock and over time have just created a hard to describe collection of alternative (generally not pop) music but still mostly like listening to something with a good baseline and decent lyrics. Can never get bored of people like The cat empire, Black keys, Wolfmother, Guts, and many others..

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once saved my dad from being carried away to see by having him hold my trunks while I swam against the current.

Teach, Learn, Share

Well I can teach how to use tools and do some DIY. I've spent most of my life renovating in part my parents house.
I'd love to learn more about sociopolitical issues from around the world and bits of new languages. I love learning to cooking styles and cuisines.
And we'll I can hopefully share good experiences and what ever snippets of wisdom I have or don't have can be anecdotal jokes ;)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I don't want to offer to much up but I can cook, clean, am handy with tools and fixing things. I would be keen to help out with any mechanical stuff as Id love to learn more. I've got loads of experience gardening and landscaping so any outdoor work too.
But hopefully you just want to share and drink and some good chat.
