Janelle and I are both 26 years old and almost like sisters. We met 7 years ago at Eastern Michigan University where we both obtained our degrees.

Kira: I have a background in child development and nonprofit administration and I spent a year working outdoors to restore natural habitats and maintain hiking trails. I enjoy yoga, campfires and playing the ukulele. I eat vegetarian and je parle un peu francais.

Janelle:
I have a background in Biology and hospitality. I have been working as a waitress to support myself throughout college. I love swimming, kayaking, and beach fires on summer nights. I am from Michigan although I was born in Ohio and grew up near the boarder of these two states. I live on a small Island located in Lake Erie in the summers for work (cleaning B&B's and inns, serving, bar tending and cooking!) https://www.facebook.com/janelle.chandler.18

We both have 3 siblings and are very close with our families. We both love meeting new people, animals, laughing, biking, exploring nature, dancing, live music, experiencing new things and ideas, beer and going on adventures! We are traveling throughout 10 countries in Europe over the course of 3 months and hope to WWOOF in many of them!

We love seeing how other people live - it is the best way, we think, to get to know another culture. Being able to share some new music, a meal, a movie, a game of cards, or an afternoon of site seeing or hiking in another country with a new friend sounds like a dream come true! Above all, we are hoping to have new experiences and make happy memories with international friends.

Interesses

We are interested in making the world a better place through our actions. From recycling to eating local, we try to be conscious of the things we use throughout my day.
We've always dreamed of traveling and experiencing all of the beautiful cultures and people this world has to offer.
We are planning to Couchsurf in between WWOOFing throughout 10 countries in Europe!

I love to laugh so funny movies are definitely my favorite. Anything from slapstick funny to a dark comedy.

Janelle:Music: Modest Mouse (all time fav), Valerie June, The Black Keys, Amy Winehouse, the Beatles and hip hop.
Movies: I am the worst at watching movies.... when the movie starts I just get really sleepy and don't usually finish the film. Suspense films are my favorite or at least keep my attention haha

Kira:
I have cut up a fallen tree with one of those old-timey, two-person crosscut saws.
I have condensed all of my belongings into what I could fit in my car and moved across the United States. Twice.

Janelle:
I love being spontaneous, I travelled 3100km on a whim to spend time with my best friend for her birthday.
We helped a newly formed organic farm plant and sow thousands of veggies in Germany!

I was trained by NAP in Ann Arbor, Michigan to participate as volunteer in prescribed burning and invasive plant removal.

Kira:
I can make paper cranes and play the ukulele. I studied French in college for 3 years and fell in love with the language, but if you don't use it you lose it! I would love to have a friend to practice French with!

Janelle:
Surviving Michigan winters requires playing cards and board games! I love playing Euchre, Spades, jiggly ball, dice ect. I would love to teach or learn new games!
