关于我
CURRENT MISSION
My mission is to explore various parts of the world to experience different cultures, observe various attitudes, and above all else; gain a slew of impressive life stories to tell my grandchildren 40 or 50 years from now.
ABOUT ME
I am an architecture major, and as such, experience is one of my most valuable assets. Each part of the world holds a series of lessons I know I haven't unlocked yet, and I constantly look forward to finding them. I am an artist, a dreamer, and a hopeless romantic. Recently, I have become an avid researcher of the Green Technology movement, and hope to base my studies on new innovative natural green techniques for home building and human sustainability.
PHILOSOPHY
Much like what was said in my "all about you" section, I am a dreamer. I constantly have what I think are great ideas popping into my head, so I keep a notebook around to write them all down. Some are developed, others not so much. I have a dream to one day change society's outlook on personal responsibility as human beings, and to help restore the planet's capacity to feed human life.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have yet to host anyone from couch surfers, but I am very excited to do so. I first heard about it from a friend when I was working at a restaurant. He told me about these networks that people join and offer a place for travellers and adventurers to sleep. I thought it was very unlike the attitude of the world, and the direction I wished most people aspired to think and act.
兴趣
I am very interested in my choice of major, which is architecture. As such, I also enjoy art and music fairly avidly. My downfall is video games, because I love to explore new things so much, and video games are new experiences, but hardly exploratory. I love to swim and play guitar whenever I find time to relax. Most of all, I love a brilliant movie.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情
It seems all of my comments for these questionnaires have to do with education. One amazing thing I have seen in my lifetime has to be the success of thousands of students across the United States. For a country whos education system seemingly has leaks all over it, these students are flowing out of the spigot like nothing could stop them.
Throughout high school, and what has been my college career so far, I have been a student member of an organization called SkillsUSA. It is a nationwide non-profit career and technical student organization that helps to develop leadership skills and professionalism in students studying to work in a tade industry concentration. It is exciting to see (as well as to be one of) the students as they prepare their projects for competition every year at various levels, capping out at the national level competition in Kansas City, Missouri. However, the most amazing thing I noticed throughout my seven years as a member, competitor, and student leader, has been the smiles, excitement, and great attitudes of the students when they are at their competitions. I think it is something about the hard hitting realization that you are an ambassador for your school, your town, or your state, as your meet and greet with various other competitors. Possibly it is the fact that all of the students who I meet competing in SkillsUSA are motivated, dedicated students who are happy to be meeting so many other motivated students from across the state, or country. The aura of excitement is almost intoxicating, as the cities are flooding with SkillsUSA's signature red blazers.
It was amazing to me that SkillsUSA could turn a student like myself, who hated school and studying and speaking in front of crowds, into an ambitious young adult who captures every opportunity to explore, experience, and engage.
教,学,和分享
Throughout my experiences as a student on both coasts of the United States, I have unlocked a key lesson that I think many young students in America (and maybe all over the world... I hope to find out) have missed; and that is that the true key to a passion for life, is relativity. Coming from a high school student with a 2.33 GPA in high school, and turning it around to a 3.75 GPA in college, I can say that the one lesson I learned was to look at the possibilities of my school work, instead of the duties. Take for example, physics. In high school physics was as cryptic to me as sanskrit, and needless to say I was an epic failure at it. But once I started to really study art, architecture, and other fine arts such as professionalism, I began to realize that when you start to develop a respect for your interest, many doors open to reveal an interest in each field that relates to that interest. For me, an interest in architecture, specifically green technologies, meant an understanding of phsyics, geology, photonics, biology, art, sculpting and a million other arts that could be implemented in the design of human environments. Suddenly my world was flipped upside down with wonder and curiosity. My life was changed forever.
