关于我
CURRENT MISSION
Appreciate every last moment of my time in Europe
ABOUT ME
I used to be an intense planner. I liked to know what was going to happen after work, tomorrow, next week, in five years. In fact "Planner" was in my job title. It's not a terrible way to live your life, but it doesn't allow for much spontaneity. So I quit my job, left San Francisco, and moved to Switzerland to be an Au Pair. It was the best decision I've ever made. Now I like to roll into a new city and let it unfold like a good book. I like to walk into a bar, see who I meet, and ask strangers to tell me stories. I love food that is prepared by people who are passionate about it (whether it be a 3 euro crepe or a four course meal). I'm equally happy in a group of twenty people or sitting alone in the sun with a good book. I need to be outside everyday and my favorite feeling in the whole world is when you're laughing so hard your stomach starts to hurt.
PHILOSOPHY
"Oh, pshaw--does it even matter now? Hells no. You're here, you're in, we're havin' a party!" - Dave Eggers

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Mostly surfing right now. I work with the most amazing kids, but sometimes I just need to not see their little faces for 48 hours. So, when I have a day or two off, I like to get out of town. Whether staying on the couch of a local, or just grabbing a drink while sitting in the sun, I'd love to see these cities through the eyes of the people who love them and live them everyday.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I'm new to this game, care to show me around?
兴趣
Running. Reading. Writing. Laughing. Dancing. Going to concerts. Learning to make the perfect tiramisu and Zuppa di Zucca from my adopted Italian Grandmother while stumbling my way through our lessons with my broken italian.

音乐、电影和书籍
This changes by the day and by my mood. So, at the moment I'm writing this...
I'm listening to: Hurry Up, We're Dreaming -- M83
Opting for episodes of The West Wing on DVD over movies as of late
Currently reading: Fierce Invalids Home From Hot Climates -- Tom Robbins
我做过的一件不可思议的事情
I grew up 30 minutes from great mountains in Washington state, and yet never learned to ski or snowboard. By the time I was 20, I figured I was too old to learn. But then I moved to Switzerland. Not skiing is not an option.
My first day trying on the mountain was one of the most difficult/frustrating days I'd ever experienced. I was terrible. I fell every 15 seconds. I gave a fabulous imitation of a beetle trapped on it's back. I hated it. But then, I made one successful turn! It was a huge adrenaline rush and that was all it took. By our third trip to the mountain I was able to do a whole run (granted it was the easiest one, but still) without falling. Closing out the season by drinking a beer on the deck of the lodge, looking out over the Alps, and realizing I had learned to do something I was previously too scared to even consider trying is a feeling I will never forget.
I want more of these moments. My year in Europe is my "Year Of Yes." Bring on the new experiences!
