I obtained a Bachelor degree (100% English) with outstanding grades in Economics and Finance at RMIT University Vietnam. I am also in the process of taking international financial certificates to move up the career ladder in banking & finance job.

I am native Vietnamese, and speak fluent English. Also I can understand some basic French. I am very capable of dealing with numbers and data, specifically I have a high sense of understanding complicated numbers and be able to calculate very quickly. Moreover, I am learning about social media & video makings and very interested in that.

Fresh from university in 2015, I firstly started working at auditors at PwC Vietnam, handling
and verifying financial reports for different fields, such as automobiles, banking, insurance.

After 2 years being auditor, I decided to change industry and switch into banking field, specifically working in operations department at J.P.Morgan Chase for 5 years. Until 2022, I again switched to another job, which is life insurance. I have been in level Manager of strategic planning in Life insurance for 3 years now, and very enthusiastic about that.

After Covid, the most challenging time came when I started with a start-up firm in early 2023. The economy actually went down turn, and everything was not going well as initial plan. However, we did manage to overcome that, and was able to raise fund and increase valuation of the firm by 3x times. It was a big success for me and my team, me myself I was doing pretty good in terms of financial and professional careers afterwards

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I really love travelling. I was born and raise in Ho Chi Minh, also really spent all of my career there. In 2023, I relocated to Hanoi for my full-time job, just then I realized that Hanoi is very amazing, much more than I can ever imagine.

I prefer solo-travelling. I have been to all countries in South East Asia on my own, and also to Japan, Korea, Taiwan, India, Nepal. I prefer going backpackers, and discovering things on my own. For me, going hiking and to the mountains are very appealing and enjoyable.

Also in Vietnam, I really fell in love with the beautiful mountains in the north, and have been to many out of 15 highest mountain peaks in Vietnam. Moreover, I also did many long-distance motorbike loops on my own, to Ha Giang, Cao Bang, Dien Bien. They were absolutely amazing.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I am Buddhist. I used to take part in many charitable events in the pagodas and temples, helping people to distribute food in the hospitals, and also raising fund to support children in the farthest remote areas in Ha Giang.

For me, travelling and doing volunteering are both very meaningful and rewarding, not just only assisting people, but also helping me to find my own meaning of life.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am native Vietnamese and speak very good English. I have been to many parts in Asia. For me, it is very important to live my life to the fullest with nothing to regret afterwards, specifically, travelling and helping people are the most crucial things that added so much meaning to my life. When I start doing something, I always do it as best as I can and made the most of it.
