About Me

Hiyo! I'm Canadian! Im 7 years on the road now. I mostly travel for people, and the lil things that make a country home.

With my people, I drink, dance and talk alot I really value a sense of ease and delight.
On my own, I'm a complete hermit. Im obsessed with organizing, and context. I love non-fiction and narrative history reads. I watch way too many youtube videos.

I absolutely love visiting Japan and Mexico. Japan because it just amazing there, it never disappoints and its eye on the past it just oh so lovely, it like cultural hug of quiet pride and warmth. Mexico because latin culture is the perfect foil to asian culture, and mexico city and meso american history is amazing.

I'm a huge history buff, theres nothing i love more than a juicy anecdote.
My interest include stamps, local ceramics, tea, water-colors, and paper.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've done technically more amazing things. But one of my all-time favourite moments that i really fondly remember is this one time i was touring the tokyo islands. It's this string of volcanic islands that feature some really amazing history and geographic features. Think smoking mountain sides and hot springs and black sand beaches and towns flattened by oozing lava. Anyhooesies, So this long since erupted volcano on one of the islands. It's one of those classic you build as a kids shaped ones with a huge crater on top. You start the slow spiral climb up and as you climb higher and higher, you slowly unveil the entire island. It seem impossibly high because how tiny the island and its towns look and how it sits on the now massive looking oceans. Now when you get on top theres this thing called a ridgewalk. I never heard of this, but its a thing you walk along the craters edge. It was one of most surreal experiences of my life. Ive been traveling for 7 years and im pretty jaded and think that everything's been discovered and the sense of awe is gone. This ridge is couple km round and i've never in my life felt my heart and eyes swell as it did this day walking around this ridge. Its like your walking on top of the world on endless fields of wind swept grass but you can see the tiny island extend from below you. And on the other side, in the crater is huge primeval forest daring you to step towards it. I've been obsessed with mountains ever since. I've down some buddhist holy peaks in china, annapurna in nepal, it been a ride so far. But yeah, thats my story.

Teach, Learn, Share

This question sketches me out because it assumes i know something enough to teach. Which makes me feel so uncomfortable. I don't know if know anything like that. What I can offer is my experiences and speaking to your experience and we can go from there...if that makes sense.
