About Me

Independent solo travelling is one of the greatest joys of life. And by travelling, I don't mean a "Dream Holiday" to Hawaii or even a backpacking trip to South Asia. The route to a destination is normally the main destination for me. I have the best times of my life when I am on the road. I don't need to "arrive". In my view, travelling could be as simple as packing a tent in a backpack, hopping on a local bus where you live and get out, that's it!
No matter where you go, what you do. Travelling on its own is very life-enriching. It doesn't need anything else.

Travelling is not just getting out of a place though. I sometimes get out of the place I live in; sometimes of myself and sometimes of my mind! I believe it's important to have the courage of getting out of all these sometimes. Knowing that you are not truly in there, unless you are out of it; your mind that is!

I get out, since "life starts at the end of your comfort zone. "

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Seriously? What is more enjoyable than opening your arms and embracing people who are different but similar to you?

Interests

I have huge respect for honest conversations, exchanging ideas and emotions. Being exposed to a wide range of different human kinds from all around the earth means you are in close touch with different ideas and different emotions; since they come from completely different life experiences. I believe having a chance to have a direct, honest and open encounter with all these differences is something that deeply enriches my being.

I'm much more interested in people than places, therefore I'm generally not quite attracted to touristic places, unless there is something special about them, as I'm not a tourist (maybe not even a "traveler" ) but a wanderer with a massive dose of wanderlust.

Life is a travel around your own being, discovering yourself, and travel is life. I travel to experience, to live, to be and to exist my existence.

Research, politic, philosophy, hitchhiking and massage are also among my main interests.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books

Mainly instrumental music. I hardly listen to any music with lyrics. Some of my favorite composers are Paco de Lucía, Yann Tiersen, Siamak Aghaei, Keyhan Kalhor, Hossein Alizadeh and Ardavan Kamkar.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

There used to be a paragraph here, describing something I had done that people thought it was amazing and so did I. But I removed it.
Life itself can be an incredibly amazing or boring phenomenon. A Persian poet describes it as a fireplace. If you try to get the fire going, you will see the dance of each flame from every corner; nice, warm and beautiful. If you don't do any effort to start the fire and keep it going, it is off, grey and cold; that coldness would be our sin, not the fireplace's, not life's.
Every simple action that people may call boring can be an "amazing thing you've done" if you get the fire of life going; at the same time, most "amazing" things can be very boring if you make no effort to fire up your fire of life.
So the "amazing thing I've done" and will keep doing is trying to keep the fire going and enjoy observing the dance of each flame, from every corner.

Teach, Learn, Share

Through years of practice and experience, I have put together an exercise like a partnered meditation. The aim of the exercise is to build confidence, face your fears and experience a very strong human connection with the practicing partner on different levels. It starts with eye contact and gradually develops to more senses.

Ask me how it works, if you are interested.
