À propos de moi
CURRENT MISSION
Learn to be happy and teach positive psychology.
ABOUT ME
I am a PhD student in Psychology, specialized in positive psychology and the science of emotions. I live in a vegetarian co-op where I cook dinner for 4 other housemates, despite not being a vegetarian myself. I enjoy communal, mindful, and sustainable living.
I enjoy conversation about psychology, science, philosophy, movies, food, culture, life, and actually, whatever you can think of...
PHILOSOPHY
Obstacle is the way.
Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I want to start hosting once I come back to the US and have a place that I call my own. :D . For now, I'm surfing and hanging out with CSers.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I'm very new to couchsurf and traveling. In fact, the first time I steps out of my country was when I go to college in the US. But now, I would trade anything for the experience of traveling, learning, and making meaningful connections with people from all over the world.
Centres d'intérêt
I'm a psychology PhD student, so I am very passionate about topics in psychology. I like to think about how we think and act, what motivates us, what underlying our complex emotions etc. I'm also an amateur photographer who admires beauty and art. I love exploring a completely new place on foot or on a bike and hunting "wow" moments with my camera. Finally, I am crazy about cooking and love to make delicious food for other people. In a parallel universe, I will probably go to a culinary school and open my own restaurant.

Morceaux de musique, films et livres
Movies at the top of my head: Pan's Labyrinth, Amelie, Spirited Away, Being John Malkovich, The Cider House's Rules, Contact, Gattaca, The Matrix, Nolan's movies including Following, Memento, The Prestige, Inception, Batman trilogy, Pierrot le Fou, David Lynch's films, Dancer in the Dark, etc.
Music: Camille, Pomplamoose, Michael Buble, the Beatles, the Bee Gees, Regina Spektor, etc.
Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue
I taught Pip, a capuchin monkey, to understand the concept of money in a psychology experiment. He brought me a poker chip and put it on my hand to trade for a grape. I was very proud of that moment. The monkeys live in their colony, so it's much harder to train them compared to monkeys in the circus.
2. I took a photo of a sunset on "Perfume" river in Hue city. The sun had already disappeared, but its magnificent light and vibrant colors still remained in the sky, with a broad range of spectrum from blue, to golden, to pink, to violet. Meanwhile, it's dark enough so that one could only see the silhouette of the swan boats on the river. My friends love the photo, but I know I could never do that moment enough justice.
