Overview
About Me
Hufflepuff on the move! I needed some time to explore the world a bit more before I find my dream job and never want to leave it.
Before I moved to New Zealand in September 2018 (on the Work Holiday Visa), I worked for the Embassy of Japan and recruited people to go teach English in Japan. Just as fun as it sounds, plus we got great sushi for lunch.
I try to live life by the golden rule, eat every jalapeno popper I come across, and pet every cat/dog I see.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Hanging out with the local community (and their pets; oh my god I miss having cats and dogs in my life), trying their fave foods/recommendations, and having a laugh together is peak travel happiness for me. It's an amazing way to experience things you wouldn't normally try (midnight dumpster diving, first-time attempts at tennis, and tours of the local university), all while making a new friend that you can then host in your own home country someday!
Interests
I love photography (both digital and film), soccer, eating delicious food, attempting to make delicious food (my best creations are usually brownies and a simple version of tacos), and reading travel blogs to take notes on where I plan to go next.

Music, Movies, and Books
The Office, Brooklyn 99, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, His Dark Materials, and all Studio Ghibli movies.
Music-wise, I'll listen to literally anything, but will sing my heart out on musicals (Hamilton, Wicked, and Hairspray) and Disney soundtracks in the car.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The one time I went skydiving I passed out while falling, and hit the ground face-first. Walked away with only a few bruises!
What I Can Share with Hosts
Stories, sarcasm, and box-mix brownies. I'm also super into organizing, so if there's a room project you need help on, I'm your girl.
Sadly I can't host share my own space with anyone as I cancelled my apartment lease in the States and have been couchsurfing/hostel-ing it up in NZ ever since.
