CURRENT MISSION

This is going to sound like it's coming straight out of a self-help book. :D But my goal right now is to be more spontaneous and do things I haven't done before, in hopes of figuring out my passion in life.

ABOUT ME

Born in Iran, but have lived in the US for the past 16 years (mostly in Indiana but also in California for a few years). I have dabbled in many things over the past 27 years, but haven't really been able to find a passion in life yet. I have decided to take two weeks of vacation from work and take some time to reflect. I am doing this because I need to get out of my normal routine and meet some new people.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I will be traveling to NYC and Montreal, QC, and maybe Boston and some other parts of New England, given time, starting 09/26/2011. I am hoping to find a couple of people from each place that can guide me to the right spots to visit for good music, natural surroundings and good food.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like all types of music. To name a few: Muse, Coldplay Soul Nidus, Arcade Fire, Lenoard Cohen, Bob Dylan, Chet Baker, Louis Armstrong...
Not really a big movie buff but I enjoy a good movie once in a while.
I enjoy reading non-fiction mostly. I am currently reading A People's History of the U.S. by Howard Zinn, Tipping Point by Malcolm Gladwell and Hopes and Prospects by Chomsky.

Teach, Learn, Share

I need to learn to become more spontaneous and make decisions easier. I contemplate my options too much and often end up delaying decisions til last minute. I can teach patience and self-awareness.
