About Me

All I really have and I'm totally willing to share is my time and ideas for spending time with you travelers from all over the world.
I think couchsurfing is an extraordinary way to share my culture, my ideas and life experiences. A place where new waves come in and I am more than ready to surf.

I think we were born for fun and right now we have the opportunity of being at this particular time in life when there are no real ideological boundaries, when we all have so much in common despite of the place where we were born, we came here to enjoy life and take the chance to grow and gain experiences as world citizens.

I'm a very sociable, easy going and outspoken. I'm definitely not a person to be shy with, I don't like to judge and I am really open to know more about other perspectives and share my own as well.

I love to party but I enjoy quietness and tranquility as well. I enjoy helping people get the best out of my country, no matter the place. I'm always craving for new things, flavors and conversations and I invite others in trying to do the same. I love cooking and I'm very proud of my culture, love making new friends but, above all, I love to make meaningful relationships and cultivate them overtime. I do believe in the power and implications in finding someone in your own path.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm aware that there might be many prejudices to overcome when interacting with different cultures. In Mexico we are generally very friendly but, just like in every corner of the world, there's a wide range of personalities, different situations and many ways of thinking. I'm convinced that we all do our best with what we got.

I am practically new to this community (...what an amazing opportunity), I've been hearing from this experience over and over again from close friends, but in spite of this I am very used to travel and make friends with people from other parts of the world.

I love the idea of getting to know a city from a local's perspective. Even though I'm not a big fan of touristic-crowded places, sometimes turns out to be very appealing when visiting a country for the first time.

I am very respectful and responsible in everything I do, mostly when my actions affect or involve others in any possible way. I think it is important when people expect something from you and I am really good in putting myself in someone's shoes. I've been a traveler myself for several years and I know how it feels like to be outside of my confort zone, in a strange place, away from your relatives, as I've been more than once in uncomfortable situations when I really needed from the hospitality and warmth from strangers, this is why I try to respond travelers the same way.

Interests

I love my books, I use to read a lot (or listen using Audible), mainly about neuroscience, psychology, history and human behavior / anthropology.

I like all types of social activities, I enjoy making new friends and hanging around.

I love when cities are well-adapted for bikes and roller skating. I think this is a very important activity for me, as I haven't drive a car in many years. For me bikes are not just a recreational but a main way to move around. I really enjoy going on long bike rides, this is my favorite way to know a city.

Well obviously I love to travel. Sometimes you may not have a big budget but, instead of stoping you, this might be an opportunity to embrace, think outside the box, think outside consumerism, explore new alternatives that make you end up growing strong and using this kind of tools really makes you know people and know yourself. Forcing myself into new experiences has really made me wiser. I think I tend to be very good at it, besides, you never know what you may find... Right?

Music, Movies, and Books

I like all kind of MUSIC but Pop has my beat. My favorite type is the Electro-Pop (Indie): CHVRCHES, La Roux, Niki & The Dove, Icona Pop, Tegan and Sara, Haim and Chela. I love relaxing music like Jazz, bossa and I'm a HUGE fan of vintage and retro styles (70's, 80's & 90's).

There are many BOOKS that changed my life in many ways and I tend to read them over and over again: Atlas Shrugged, The Fountainhead, Under the Tuscan Sun, Love what is, The Psychopath Test, 1984, Brave New World, The Alchemist, Ecce Homo, The Genealogy of Morals, The Prince, Demian, House of Leaves and A Brief History of Time just to name a few.

About MOVIES I don't really have a certain favorite style or genre, I just like those stories strong and engaging enough to take my mind away; Kill Bill, Pulp Fiction, Insidious, The Grudge, The Conjuring, The Babadook, Gone with the wind, Casablanca, Spellbound, Psycho The Fever (Vanessa Redgrave), Carne Trémula, Volver (Almodovar), Nymphomaniac, Angel-A, Cat people, Gone with the Wind, Cat People and Citizen Kane.

Sorry for that verbiage!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Quit meeting everyone's expectations, the most important thing about life is being authentic and you get to be more authentic the closer you get to look like whatever you once dreamed you could be.

Teach, Learn, Share

As I said before, I love my country and I am really proud of my culture, I believe food is the very essence of Mexico, so I tend to convince people that the best way to really know Mexico is to keep an open mind and try new things (Always keeping close a glass of water of course.)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my ideas accompanied with a nice cup of coffee and nice music from my spotify playlist.

As I said before, I like to share my passion for food. Even though sometimes ingredients are hard to find outside of Mexico, I'm good at improving.

I have a very peculiar perspective in life. I have many mottos; suffering is opcional, criticism says more about yourself than others, leave generalizations for the close-minded, fear will only take you to violence and "closets are for clothes" (yes, I'm gay... if that matters).

I'm very good at seeing the practical way in every situation. I am self-confident and I have so much to share with people.

Generally people think I'm a great person to spend time with, but nothing really comes to mind when thinking what could I ever say to change perceptions, I prefer to let actions speak for themselves and want to be judged by the things I'm about to do, not the things I can tell you I've done.
