About Me
CURRENT MISSION
See not the flashy attractions, hear not what the "official word" is. Travel. Uncover new perspectives.
ABOUT ME
Whats in a name? That which we--- Oh never mind Shakespeare for now. From one traveler to another, greetings!
I come from Singapore, a tropical dot on the map in South East Asia.
Having spent 3 years as undergrad in Oxford, I decided it was time to spend some time halfway across the world. Was in Beijing for a year. Now I'm kind of in limbo between Hong Kong and Singapore.
PHILOSOPHY
My life is a search for beauty. It is not just found in the physical and the superficial, but in all forms. Beauty in an ideal; in the flash of a dancer's pirouette; in the notes of a half forgotten song, swirling in the wind.
I think stories have beauty as well. And what is yours? If you wish, I will gladly listen and share mine in return.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm happy to meet, talk and hang out with people from all walks of life but I'm not an Energizer bunny who can keep going all day long. A pensive streak haunts me and I like being alone or around nature, which helps me to recharge. But after that, I'm ready to go again!
When hosting, I try to point out the less walked path where people can get to experience a place for it is, untouched by the often unfortunate gloss of commercialism that overt tourism places over sites of interest.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I'm new to CouchSurfing and would like to get started!
My experience of being hosted in Osaka, Japan was very pleasant and I hope to reproduce the kindness and hospitality which was shown to me for the people I host.
Interests
I love culture. Museums and opera houses are a few of my favorite haunts. I like food (both cooking and eating)and sports as well. I particularly like kayaking and climbing. They bring me closer to nature while challenging me physically.
What other interests do I have? Some might call philosophy, psychology, poetry an odd trio, but they seem to make the perfect companions for me.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The brilliance of stars do not need speaking of, for they are self-evident in the eyes of those who have seen them. However, this is still a CouchSurfing profile. Thus, here are some in order of increasing "amazingness"...
1) backpacking for 3 weeks in rugged Western China
2) catching the Northern Lights on a snowy plain in Sweden
3) finding myself alone at night in Jordan, treading across a moonlit desert
4) loving someone
