ADVENTURE

ABOUT ME

I am a US citizen that passionately loves adventure and exploration of new countries and cultures. I love photography, especially film. I volunteer on a Search and Rescue team which locates missing people and provides first aid should they need it. I recently graduated University of California, Berkeley and am currently applying to medical school. I work with a company dedicated to providing supported independent living to individuals with developmental and intellectual differences. I am an ardent outdoors lover, and also enjoy writing poetry. I hiked over 1,000 miles of the Pacific Crest Trail, and 500 miles on the Camino and had the time of my life.

PHILOSOPHY

I realize more and more each day how lucky I am to be alive, and that if I spend time in the places that make my heart sing, sooner or later, I will find that I am surrounded by people whose hearts sing (and dance to!) the same tune as mine.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have been extremely lucky with CouchSurfing having found excellent and delightful hosts as well as great friends while traveling in Japan and hiking the Pacific Crest Trail, and most recently surfing in Spain and Greece. I have just recently started hosting to pass on the amazing generosity of my previous hosts, as well as all the fellow adventurers out there!

Music, Movies, and Books

Harry Potter has to be first and foremost on the list. The Kite Runner, David Sedaris, Billy Collins, Dune (reading in sections on trail, AMAZING!), Dancing Wu Li masters, SHERLOCK HOLMES (the books and the movie, and the BBC show for that matter), Doctor Who... the list goes on. I love any song I can dance to ( and that covers a lot of bases!) I always love soundtracks (Hans Zimmer, Joe Hisashi, james Newton Howard, John Williams etc.).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Ran down the Japanese Alps barefoot.
Climbed Mt. Whitney.
Solo thru-hiked over 1000 miles

Teach, Learn, Share

Emergency medicine, backpacking and hiking know-how, plus some good gear tips, some Basic Soccer(Futbal), Basic Photography and camera skills.
I love language! I want to learn at least 7 different languages in my lifetime.
