Currently in between degrees and taking the opportunity to travel and explore the world while meeting new friends along the way! I truly enjoy being able to connect with others from around the globe and to exchange cultural experiences. :)

ABOUT ME

I graduated with my BA in English in 2014 in California and just finished my MA in Italian Studies in November of 2016. I am currently waiting to hear back from universities in the hopes of pursuing a PhD in English Literature with the ultimate goal of becoming a professor. I lived in Florence, Italy in 2012-2013 and spent my last semester of my MA in Venice (Spring 2016). I have worked as an Italian teacher for the past two years at CSU Long Beach and loved every minute of it! I'd like to say that I'm a very outgoing person who loves to make friends and share new experiences. I am able to get along with basically anybody, and always enjoy sharing laughs and making memories! To sum myself up in simple terms, my life is surrounded by travel, good literature, foreign languages, amazing people, cats, and good glasses of red wine. :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I lived 2012-2013 abroad in Florence, Italy, in Corsica for the summer of 2015, and Venice in the Spring of 2016. Throughout my time in Europe, I have traveled to multiple different countries other than Italy and had couchsurfing experiences in almost all of them! I enjoyed each and every opportunity that I was given, met some wonderful people and had the amazing experience of learning about other cultures. Unfortunately, I cannot host at this time because I am traveling and have no settled place at the moment. Wherever I settle down next, come visit!!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We surfed in different countries over the years and had fantastic experiences. Our hosts were very helpful with giving us information on the city, and very accommodating as well, for they made us feel right at home! I'll remember my experiences forever and hope to have more in the future :)

Interests

I have a passion for traveling, writing, literature, cooking, music, art, and adventuring! I love to keep myself busy just as much as I like to take some time to relax. I love to pass the time with my friends and family spending time doing things that we love, although at times I enjoy curling up with a good book :)

Music, Movies, and Books

My heart lies in English Literature, but I enjoy any good literature!
My research primarily works with 18th century woman writers and 19th century Victorian literature, although I am a big fan of early 20th century literature in England, America, and Italy. I am primarily interested in Aestheticism, gothic literature, translation studies, travel writing, English reception of Italian culture/literature, women's writing, feminist translation theory, and gender studies.

My favorites are without a doubt Wilde, Hemingway, Fitzgerald, Forster...I could go on about the others that I love, but we would be here forever :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The top of the Duomo in Florence, Italy (where I currently live). The view literally took my breath away and brought tears to my eyes!
The top of the Eiffel Tower is unforgettable, and the view of the tower itself at night is just about the most romantic experience I've ever shared in my life.
The view from the top of Arthur's Seat in Edinburgh is nothing less than rewarding.
Climbing up the Leaning Tower of Pisa definitely played with my equilibrium..it's an experience you can't have anywhere else!
Taking the Gondolas up overlooking the city of Porto in Portugal is absolutely breathtaking.
I am in love with nature, so all the beautiful nature hikes in Italy and California have truly been moments that I will always remember.
Standing in front of the castle in Prague overlooking the city in the middle of a blizzard!
Plitvice lakes in Croatia--one of the most beautiful and surreal places I have ever been
