About Me

I am an open minded girl, who wants to discover the world and its people. I took a gapyear between high school and university to do so. I spent three months in Italy and two months in Costa Rica and realized there is so much more to see and experience. Another thing I realized is that I'm not going to live my life to become rich or have the biggest house of all my friends - I want to live to be happy and have a purposeful life.

"I also know how important it is in life not necessarily to be strong, but to feel strong. To measure yourself at least once. To find yourself at least once in the most ancient of human conditions. Facing the blind, deaf stone alone, with nothing to help you but your hands and your own head." - Into the Wild

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Climbed Costa Rica's highest mountain
Got of a bus in the middle of nowhere in Nepal, alone, to find some place to stay for a while and ended up planting rice in the fields and helping out on a school, while living with lovely hospitable Nepalese people I am still in touch with.
Wandering through Iran for two months by myself mostly staying with locals

Teach, Learn, Share

I spent 3 months in Italy where I learned Italian, however now, back in the Netherlands, I don't really get the chance to practice it much. Maybe I can help someone else by teaching the beginnings of English or Dutch in exchange for some Italian practice...?
In Iran I tried to get a hang of Farsi, still very much a beginner would love to get better at it.

Countries I’ve Visited

Costa Rica, Iran, Kyrgyzstan, Lithuania, Morocco, Nepal, Poland, Serbia, Slovakia

Countries I’ve Lived In

Canada, Italy
