ABOUT ME

Hi!
I am a very easy going, open and curious individual who is really just looking to get to know new people and cultures, learn new things and experience as much as possible. Different is interesting to me. The thought of unplanned and spontaneous adventures and challenges to be solved get me so excited!

I am very outdoorsy and sporty. Anything outside and you can count me in. Sports I enjoy include horseriding, cycling, rowing, running, volleyball and recently Surfing.
I also find huge enjoyment in the arts: photography, painting/drawing, dancing and music.

A little bit of history: I was born and grew up in South Africa but I have German and Belgian heritage. My first travel experience was in 2009 to India with a volunteer/missionary organisation called YWAM. This made me realise that travel is the best thing on earth and 2 years later I managed to participated in a work and travel opportunity in the USA.
Now, I have just recently qualified as a Physiotherapist and once my community service year is done, in December 2014, I'll be hitting the road again, hopefully this time for the long term.
I feel I need to learn more about the way other people live, gain a better understanding of what is important in different people's lives and how people portray 'love' 'compassion' 'kindness' 'trust' 'servant hood' 'goodness'...
And so my plan is to buy a one way ticket to 'somewhere' in January 2015 and just keep travelling from there until my 'Wanderlust' and need for new understanding is satisfied.

PHILOSOPHY

We are all learning, trying, experiencing and making our way accordingly. I guess you could call me a Christian but I believe in Jesus love for all people and that He came to save the WHOLE world. This means His unending love and power will bring ALL PEOPLE to heaven in time. God has things figured out. It is not up to me to get stressed or judge the lives of others. I've just taken it as my job to get to know other people and love them (no matter how different they might be). Yaaay, and I'm so excited to do just that!

Ahhh I love reading. I think I might actually read too much. Books on philosophy, psychology, psychiatry, travel, history, novels... Sadly I find less and less time for reading while I am traveling now.

I love music. Right now I am really enjoying listening to the more relaxed and chilled tunes of Indie, Folk, Country and olden day 90's :).

Movies... I really like watching movies like Oceans 11 or the Italian job. I guess that would be considered Action Drama. I like the whole planning and strategic thinking in those movies.
And since Im a girl and allowed to, I won't say no to a nice Romantic comedy... :)

Missionary work in India and solo travel around the USA!! And most recently 14 months of solo travel around Europe, USA and South America.

Im really interested in Photography! Id love to learn that and anything else really from others and maybe in the process they will learn something interesting from me! Honestly Im interested to learn whatever you can teach (it might come in handy some time)
