Honestly mostly for emergencies. I travel a lot and unexpected things can happen so its good to have a community.
I live in HK and my condo is small, but one time a hotel double books me and left me stranded in HK almost homeless New Years and a couchsurfer saved me, so I can give back to the community super emergencies.
