Overview
About Me
Hey there! My name is Kiely and I'm 25. I live in an apartment with my boyfriend (Mark, 29) and our two cats Willy and Peanut. I work at a world renowned cancer research center and love film photography, rainy days, and wine. I've lived in Seattle and Phoenix, and I've traveled to Tahiti, Samoa, Mexico and the Carribean. I don't have much experience outside the US though I am hoping that changes soon! Mark, on the other hand, has traveled all around SE Asia and Europe (Still trying to update the Countries Visiting list...). Mark works at the evil Amazon and can usually be found playing the guitar or listening to Tame Impala.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Mark and I are in the beginning stages of planning some upcoming travel. We figured that hosting on Couchsurfing would be a great way to "get in the zone" and also meet new people!
Interests
I'm interested in travel (obviously), film photography, photography in general, writing, poetry, and oceanography (my major in college)!
Mark's interested in software development, making music with Logic Pro, Sci-Fi anything, and cooking.

Music, Movies, and Books
We both love Tame Impala but I'm more geared to the likes of Justice, Fleetwood Mac, Drake, Disclosure, Toro Y Moi, Chromeo, Odesza, basically all 80's music and Britney Spears. Mark's more inclined to things like: Beach House, Wild Nothing, etc.
I wouldn't consider myself a big "movie buff" but I tend to like sci-fi (especially space exploration), horror (John Carpenter), and selected comedies (Christopher Guest).
Mark likes anything that's got a Rotten Tomato score over 90%. (I'm half joking).
As far as books goes, the running theme is that Mark loves sci-fi and I tend to like, well, basically anything. I've read all of GoT and I love most dark-themed fiction.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The coolest thing I've done is sail across the South Pacific from Tahiti to Western Samoa conducting research on marine bacteria.
