Sobre Mim

CURRENT MISSION

Immerse in foreign cultures, meet good people, share personal stories and learn new things! I am blessed to have met so many nice people on CS by both hosting and visiting fellow surfers and love the spirit and hope to continue doing so for a long time.

ABOUT ME

Open-minded and highly curious, exploring everything related to art and music. Originally born and bred in Germany, I've been living in Denmark since 2015 to do my studies, have worked in academia for a bit and am now looking for new job opportunities. While doing so I spend a lot of time with the things I am passionate about: singing and climbing.

Singing is something I trained early on as I spent half of my life so far singing full time in a Boys Choir with weekly concerts and church services. Apart from that I also learned to play the piano. As a chorister I lived in a boarding house and did a lot of trips abroad (USA, Canada, Brazil, Japan etc.) that made me quite flexible and tolerant for situations which are weird or unfamiliar at first.

Besides all that, I consider myself very sporty, as I love to play football, basketball and badminton. A few years ago I picked up climbing and was instantly hooked by the great and supportive community and being able to solve problems with both your mind and body.

Conversationwise I have a lot to tell, talk about and discuss but I don't mind at all to also just listen to other people's strories and opinions.

I think that's enough -- we can talk about the rest over a cold beer some day! :)

PHILOSOPHY

Time flies by terribly quickly. Sometimes I need to remind myself to live in the moment.

Por que estou no Couchsurfing?

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

The best thing about CS is that you get to meet real locals that know where they live and can show you the spots off the beaten path. I love exploring new places and often also go to places and buildings that no-one else would go to, such as old factory buildings or old dingy cafes hehe.
In a more general sense my goal is it to meet new people and learn as much from them as I can, be it about their culture, interests or some phrases in a foreign language. I try to be as nice a guest as I can and share as much of my life with others as possible.
Lately also started hosting cause I love the CS spirit of sharing and also moved into a new place that allows me to do so hehe

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have been so lucky with all my experience on CS be it hosting or surfing. I managed to surf many parts of the world and hosted people from many countries.

Foe example, I have couch surfed in Kuala Lumpur and Phnom Penh and had such a nice time. The hosts, Australian and Malay, were so lovely that I really enjoy remembering the times I spent with them.
Another time one amazing guy from Washington DC saved my ass last minute when I was legit gonna sleep on the street and we ended up having such a blast together. These experiences also caused me to share my them and try to convince friends and other people from Couchsurfing.
Most recently, I was lucky enough to stay with amazing people all over Russia while it was still possible.

Interesses

Music (I listen to pretty much everything.. indie, grunge, rock'n'roll, jazz, underground techno, rap.. you name it! AND of course Buena Vista Social Club haha, and not only listening, but i looooove SINGING, too!

learning languages (I think you can never have enough!)

sports (climbing, soccer, basketball, badminton and all kinds of other sports...)

- and of course there's nothing more addicting than good TV series! I've watched a handful of fantastic ones such as Sherlock, Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, Bojack Horseman etc.

Músicas, Filmes e Livros

Movies: Like old classics like some like it hot and also independent and alternative movies

Music: everything from classical to country, from jazz to indie.

Books: Malcolm Gladwell’s definitely one of my absolute favorites. Also love classics such as Aldus Huxley, Oscar Wilde or George Orwell.

Uma Coisa Incrível que Eu Fiz

I once had a concert in front of 3.000 People at the "Teatro Colon" in Buenos Aires. That was just overwhelming...! Also once hiked a cheeky mountain in Hong Kong equipped with just Birkenstocks, 2 gulps of water and 20% battery haha ... and there is so many more stories from my time in India as well. Just hit me up and I can tell you some crazy stories :))

Ensine, Aprenda, Compartilhe

After high school I worked as a TA for PE and music at North London collegiate school Jeju and loved to work with the kids there! I really liked to share my opinions and taught children interesting facts and also convinced them to speak English.
Last summer I went to a small village in rural India and also taught English to children of all ages. While the tasks were somewhat similar the environment couldn't have been any more different. I feel really blessed to have had the opportunity to work in two so different countries. One thing that my experiences at both institutions had in common were the super welcoming and adorable people I met. This just goes to show that we are all one people! No matter where we were born, which skin colour we have or how much money our parents have.

O Que Posso Compartilhar com Anfitriões

I love having good conversations with people and getting to know them. I like to listen to their stories, share my own and just spend a cozy time together. Besides that I know a few very good recipes and am always down to cook something together.

I have a lot of jolly stories about life and traveling and the many amazing CS experiences to share. I was happy enough to visit so many countries at such a young age. I sang with my choir in Hong Kong, Tokyo, New York, São Paolo, London etc., taught children English in Jeju, Korea or hung out in Bali with my mates among many other things. I hiked various mountains all over the world, e.g. in HK or in Vancouver. I lived in the two most populous countries China and India, as a student and teacher, respectively.

But I'm very keen to know more about you! So let's talk about life, food, love, the meaning of life or just what the weather is like :D
