Just making my way through the middle East and Europe before heading home to Canada. It's my first time ever being in Europe so I'm pretty excited.

I'm pretty relaxed I think. I joke a lot. I will happily get political, but can generally discuss whatever (books, music, movies, history, etc). I'm very passionate about refugees and migrants (being both what I've studied and the kind of work I've done)

Enough people have convinced me that this is the only real way to travel. I'm generally a bit shy initially so in the past I've not wanted to do this.

Now, however, I'd like to see some underrated or unknown sites. Who better to do that with than a local.

It's always a pleasure seeing and learning how other people think and feel. And sometimes you just connect with people, sharing some obscure belief or joke- however improbable- between the two of you.

Centres d'intérêt

They're interesting. I'm generally pretty talkative about most subjects or inquisitive if I know little about them. I've worked a lot with migrants and refugees so I'm always happy to talk about that.

History is a great love of mine. Really any period, honestly. I know the most about mongol and inter-war (1919-1939) history though.

I collect bootleg music of a lot of old artists. I also like to play guitar and harmonica and sing.

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

I travel with a small library. Murakami, Ishiguro, David Mitchell, my tastes lean toward historical fiction and magical realism. I am however open to read anything good. Good fiction is like exercising your empathy muscles.

I also have lots of non fiction. I'm reading a book on the history of Arab peoples and another about open borders.

I like a lot of older music: Bob Dylan, Van Morrison, Joni Mitchell, etc. I collect bootlegs for all of them so I have quite extensive collections.

I like the tallest man on earth and father John misty too.

I love bad movies. Movies so terrible they're hilarious or amazing. I can explain further in person some time.

Most of Bangladesh is pretty cool. Rivers of blood, drowning in a swamp, jungle expeditions.

Teach me anything. I'm a humble student.

I've taught a few things in my life. I was a taekwondo teacher for 5 years or so. A bit rusty now.

Laughter? Some pretty weird stories. I make nice banana pancakes and good curries if ingredients are available.

As mentioned I can play guitar (though I don't have one with me) or harmonica (I have many) and enjoy singing.

I'm pretty adaptable.
