ABOUT ME

I find it hard to answer these questions about myself...

I'm a mild-mannered lanky Scot with some half-baked big ideas and an interest in other people.
I'm also an artist working in theatre and performance, a PhD research student, and a part-time tutor at the University of Glasgow Theatre Studies department. I like being all of these things.

PHILOSOPHY

I'm still trying to figure it out

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Offering up my couch, surfing other couches occasionally.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I hosted a few guests in my old flat round the corner from where I now live, then surfed a couple of couches on a trip through France and Italy this summer. Always enjoyed it.

Interests

I think lots of things interest me. But here is a wee sample list: theatre, art, performance, music, texas hold'em poker, politics, football, adventures, good craic, parties, social justice...

Music, Movies, and Books

This list could change daily... Easy Rider, Delicatessen, Withnail and I, and Restless Natives are all pretty special movies. Lanark, The Testament of Gideon Mack, The Dharma Bums, The God of Small Things, and The Lorax are all great books. As for music I'll go Mogwai, Martyn Bennett, Dylan, Bowie, Nirvana, Belle & Sebastian, Sons and Daughters, The Clash, Joni Mitchell, Arcade Fire, Johnny Cash, Rage Against the Machine, Over the Wall, El Dog, H-Bomb, Manu Chao, Sigur Ros, The Pogues, Public Enemy, Radiohead, or sometimes I can be found in a corner of a dancefloor cutting horrendous shapes to techno, electro and drum n bass...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Living in the back of a 1986 Toyota Hiace van for a month in New Zealand winter is probably up there...
