About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To meet and enjoy brilliant people while dreaming of my next trip:).

ABOUT ME

Currently in school to become an Occupational Therapist. I really enjoy meeting new people and having memorable conversations - 2 things couchsurfing provides readily.

I'm just living life, enjoying sunsets, people, food, jokes, books and music while I go about living this life. I've been doing a lot more internal exploration versus external exploration lately which means less travel, more thinky thinky. Nia, meditation and yoga help me do this along with providing me with sanity, joy, fun and grace.

PHILOSOPHY

Live everyday as if you have dozens of years left, hey I'm going with the odds :P. Just make sure every one of those years is different than the last.

Also the sooner we all get it into ourselves that we are exactly where we're meant to be right now the better. If you have found a way to keep this truth present in your day to day life, pass along the secret eh?

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've been a hobo on many couches in the past and have hosted as I've been able to. I do try to pass the site on to as many friends as possible:).

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I think my first experience was summer 2006 and stayed with the fantastic Mark in London, Martin in Copenhagen, and Christophe in Paris. When I got back to Vancouver the beautiful Laura let me have a camping adventure in her backyard while I found an apartment. Next time around I visited Hans and Elizabeth in Vienna and they were wonderful, so generous and sweet. Matej took me to his local and introduced me to his Mum when I visited his wee hometown just outside of Bratislava, kick-ass guy! Summer of 2009 I visited NY with a friend where the awesome Rado and Monica hosted us. A quick visit to Victoria last summer introduced me to Drew who I'll definitely be visiting again. Michael and Brandon in Seattle are always welcome north or the border, as is Ieva should she find her way up here.

I like to host when I have the time, so many juicy people in this world :).

Interests

Using my brain, cats, snarflers (squashy faced dogs like French bulldogs) traveling (durrr), long walks, tofu, well-written literature, Mexican shootouts, art, yoga, Nia, learning.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I simultaneously feel like I have done nothing and everything - clearly neither is true. Let's say hitching and hanging out on communes one trip to Europe was rad and leave it there.

Teach, Learn, Share

Ok :). Always bring a towel. Don't panic. Cellphones make ok flashlights in lowlight conditions.
