About Me

The nationality I carry is Malaysian. My race and ethnicity are Chinese.
I am currently pursuing a liberal arts degree in Soka University of America (SUA), which is an awesome school that offers plethora opportunities to travel abroad and around USA. The mission statement and financial supports are cooler too! If you have the opportunity, check them out! We have a sister university- Soka University of Japan, which is also where I am studying at right now. Amazing scholarships... Anyways, back to me..

I have an expensive hobby, which is travelling... I love to indulge myself in new culture, new food, new environment... because these experiences enable me to get out of my comfort zones and bring out the courage within me to try new stuffs.

In addition to acquiring beautiful knowledge through travelling, I love to blow my mind with anthropology classes. Hence, my concentration in SUA is Anthropology. Ethnographic are awesome because researches offer personal lens on the subject matter they seek to understand... Please check them out in your nearest libraries!!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am a college student, currently on a mandatory study abroad in Japan. I plan to travel around Japan with a minimal cost. Where I come from, Malaysia, isn't very stable financially... the exchange rate is so different.. I hate to burden my parents.. Hence, my travel journeys are often covered by Soka or with my small budget. I hope to meet awesome people to host me and my friends during our trip to certain beautiful places in Japan.

Interests

Understanding social and environmental issues is one of my interests, along with exposing myself to new culture and social values during my travel wonders.

Furthermore, giving back to the community and the universe has always been one of my main priorities and interests in life. I love to volunteer for non-profits that fight for justice because they awaken me from my ignorance regarding the realities in this world. In fact, I find it noble to contribute as much as I can offer.
