About Me

ABOUT ME
I am a 24-year old undergraduate in Interdisciplinary Sciences with a major in Biology. I am specifically interested in Green Sciences and action against Climate Change.
Since I was a kid I have been travelling to other countries quite a lot (the border is nearby when you live in a tiny country like the Netherlands). My first big trip (I was 18 at that time) was a 6 months expedition to Argentina, Chili, Peru, Bolivia and Ecuador. I really enjoy being away from my home city Amsterdam and explore the world!
I am quite an active person and interested in nature.
Besides being able to entertain myself, I am always keen to have a good chat, hang out, have a beer or a party from time to time. In general, I am considered quite a relaxed person; I try not to get stressed about things that do not deserve it and I enjoy people that interact in a similar way.
I am a sociable and active person. I really enjoy doing physical work that is demanding and keeps me busy. On the other hand, I can entertain myself by reading, handcrafts (making bracelets), yoga (especially practising my headstand) or hiking and explore new surroundings. One of my favourite ways of exploring is hiking for several days with a tent and a good friend. I am adventurous and love travelling through Europe by hitchhiking. Moreover, I enjoy wildlife and spotting bird species and get to know some trustable biological facts about my surroundings.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think meeting locals is the most valuable way of getting to know a place. You can learn a lot from books, internet or any other source of knowledge but for me, the number one way of gaining knowledge is having conservations with people. This does not only apply to getting to know places, but also understanding others, what they are doing in their life, and gaining some knowledge in whatever their interests may be! This is also one of the reasons why I enjoy hitchhiking a lot; every ride is different but each time very valuable!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am keen to cook or clean whatever. I really do not mind staying active and keep my hands busy.
I can entertain myself very well so if space is needed, that is no problem at all. I am not a huge talker, but I am a good listener.
