Hi!
My name is Kilian, I am currently studying in Berlin.
My main interest (and subject of my studies) is Eastern and Central Europe, hence the languages I am learning/speaking ;).

I enjoy travelling at a slow pace, mainly by train
and sometimes ferry around Europe. In my experience, this gives you the opportunity to meet a lot of different people and make friends in a very short time while watching the ever-changing landscape outside. This makes me feel and enjoy the distance I am covering. Plus, it is a rather environmentally-friendly way to travel (This tells you something about my political views as well :) ).

Once arrived, I like to explore cities on foot to get a sense of orientation.
On the other hand, I enjoy hiking in the mountains or being in the nature in general, one highlight for me has been the Danube Delta in Romania.

I think that it gives you an easy start into a city if you have just arrived and already know that you'll meet someone with whom you can explore the city together.
I enjoy to show other people places that I already know, not necessarily my hometown, but also other places I've been living or visiting before, too.

Visiting Antarctica (well, only the Antactic Peninsula) this year was the most amazing thing I've ever done, I don't know if I'll ever get to see another place as magical as this.
