About Me

So, my name's Killian (you probably already know that), I'm 18 and I come from Brussels, Belgium. I would describe myself as open-minded, optimistic (probably too much), adventurous and just crazy enough not to be boring. I believe in past lives, ghosts and all those energy stuff, that's why most of the people who meet me think I'm completely out of my mind. However, I can assure you I'm alright, and you'll notice after meeting me that I'm such a nice guy.

I left Belgium in September 2015, when I was still 17 (I jumped a class so I graduated from high school one year earlier than the others) and came to Australia because it was a dream for me. I lived in Sydney for 8 months and travelled for a while around Australia.
Even if I left my country, you'll never meet a guy who's as patriotic as I am. Belgium is probably the place I love the most on earth.

I hate anything or any one that is "above" me. I mean I hate receiving orders, I hate police, military and all those shit with a hierarchy. I believe in the fact that everybody should be free and do whatever they want, unless it's without any respect for others.

I never plan anything, I'm the "I'll see that later" guy, and procrastination is surely the thing I'm the best at!

To conclude, I could be weird for a lot of people, but I can act normal just in case you were doubting about that. I love having a good laugh, and I believe we can laugh about anything, I especially love dark humour though.

I'm repeating myself but honestly, I'm a nice guy, don't worry about that.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have to admit that first, it was to save some bucks (obviously)

But I discovered what CS really was, and it's more than that. Learning from people, meeting them and discovering amazing places everywhere in the world. I think it's good to know that anywhere I'll go, there will be people willing to host me.

It's more about sharing, and it feels good to know some people are still kind enough to share a couch if it can help someone who needs it.

I'm really looking forward to coming back to Belgium so I'll be able to host people.

Interests

Well, I have a lot of interests! I'd say arts in general, I could spend hours in the front of a painting trying to figure out what the message is, because I like to have my own idea of what the artist wanted to transmit.

I won't generalise that to paintings, because my #1 interest is music. I've been producing electronic music for almost 5 years now, and I'm mostly into everything that has good bass or melodies (or both).

I also tried graphic design and 3D design but I'm not really good at that.

I used to do sports, but not anymore. I'm kind of lazy sometimes, but I played rugby for 4 years and golf for 8 years (proof that I'm lazy, even when I do sports). I discovered AFL (Australian Football for those who don't know it) when I arrived in Australia and I really enjoy watching it on TV, but I've unfortunately never had the chance to try it.

As I come from Belgium, I love football (soccer) and beers as well. Don't try to make me drink a bad beer because I'll be angry. It's almost like a religious thing!

I basically watched around 50 series (not finished all of them and some still coming) But here are the ones I enjoyed the most.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I think only the fact that I left my country to go in another that I didn't know at all when I was 17 is the most amazing thing I've done.

Except that, I scuba dived in Zanzibar, in the most beautiful sea I've ever seen. After a few minutes, some dolphins showed up and that was just awesome!

I also walked for 5 hours on a mountain with a friend just because we wanted to do some free ride (ski) in the French Alps. Being alone in the middle of nowhere with just snow and rocks around you is a beautiful feeling. I've rarely been so close the the nature.

Teach, Learn, Share

I could teach you how to produce music and how to listen to music differently,by analysing the sounds, rhythms and everything.

I'm keen in learning more about people, experiences, travels, and everything others has to offer me. I feed myself with other's life to learn and be knowledgeable as much as I can for the future.

As I've had a crazy life so far (fucked up family, troubles with police and justice when I was younger) I learned a lot about life and mostly about what matters or not. Sharing all my crazy experiences could help someone not to make the same mistakes I did.
