Just moved from Michigan to Hawaii to Florida

Hello! My name is Kim and I'm addicted to traveling. I became interested in traveling when I was younger and used to travel places with my parents. There was nothing I loved more than hopping on a plane or jumping in the car for a long drive to somewhere new.

In 2014 I traveled to Europe. I went to a couple countries, mainly spending my time in Germany. I fell in love with the idea of experiencing new cultures and how every country, no matter how close, can be so different. In May of 2015, I returned to Europe for a couple of months. With a backpack and a lot of determination, I backpacked country to country, using couch surfing for the first time. As I traveled, I felt my eyes grow wider and my heart grow fonder.

I've now traveled to around 30-40 countries by myself and will continue to live out my passion of traveling. I like to volunteer while I'm in different countries and I LOVE to spend time with local children and animals. :) I travel with a few cameras and take lots of photos.

The world is such an absolutely amazing place and I want to step foot everywhere I can. There is absolutely nothing I love more than visiting a new state or country, experiencing the culture first hand, and meeting new and amazing people.

I have only been couchsurfing a few times, but I have met people from all over the world and my life is forever changed.

If you host me, or I host you, I can promise you that there will be a lasting friendship. I don't like meeting people and then never talking to them again. That's no fun! ;)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to travel the world and make lifetime friends while doing so. It may be a cheap way to travel without hostels and hotels, yes. BUT! This way you meet new people, step out of your comfort zone, really experience the daily life in new cities, and make friends that will last forever :)

Backpacked South America by myself for one year. Jumped out of a plane 18,000 feet - above the clouds! Hiked Trolltunga in Norway in the snow. Volunteered at an elephant sanctuary in Thailand. Got scuba certified in Indonesia.
