About Me

I am a 62 year-old woman living in a renovated bungalow, built in 1957 in a wonderful little village in the Capitale-region, in Québec. I'm an expert on biogas and renewable energy questions. Half of my heart is in Québec and the other half is in Sweden, where I go every year to update myself on my professional expertise. I have a grown son who lives in Montreal and I live with a cat. I have a piano and guitars and I am usually in a very good mood, loves to laugh and am grateful for life's daily gifts.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like the idea of meeting people this way and there is a room in my house which could be used more. I have friends from all ages and situations, many from other countries I've stayed friends with. I use AirBnB but I think that Couch Surfing could be interesting too, for the same reasons.

Music, Movies, and Books

Puccini's La Boheme and other Puccini operas are really my favorites. I like many kinds of music as long as it's well done, from Madonna's Dick Tracy to Gabriel Yared to James Taylor and I've been educated as a jazz guitar player and a composer, so there is wonder there also. I love Auki Kärismäki and Lasse Hällström's movies, but I'm very tired of man-centered movies. I read a lot, all kinds of novels, in French, English and Swedish. Not gore or sci-fi fan though. I also enjoy being simply reading and sleeping outside, looking at the Saint-Larence river and swimming in it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In one of the main Québec daily newspaper, I've had published my first official french translation (from swedish) of the last letter the famous crime novel author, Henning Mankell, wrote just before he died.

It was an adventure to get the permission to publish it (4 countries were involved) but I felt I had to share such a touching letter with Quebecers who love him and his books so much.

Teach, Learn, Share

Life IS about these teaching, learning and sharing every day... I have many types of knowledge and eager to learn, being a generalist rather than a specialist. So, we'll see... Jag älskar att prata på svenska om du kan också... Det är sällsynt här i Québec... ;-)

What I Can Share with Hosts

An bungalow on the river shore, books, movies and peace. My home is often seen as a haven, to share laughs and discussions, maybe some serious thoughts, but not to be wild and loud... It's possible to share cooking and nights in front of the woodstove, the adirondack chairs, the back porch or veranda.. Just bring part of the meal or wine...

It is a wonderful place, in one of the 9 loveliest villages of Québec, half way between Québec city and Trois-Rivières, two very nice cities.
