Overview
About Me
My husband, Dave, and I are currently taking time off from work to travel for 9-12 months. We started in April 2018 and have couchsurfed a few times. Our favorite experiences have been when we had time to do things on our own but also have good social interactions with our hosts. We enjoy just hanging out with good conversation!
I've lived my whole life in Ohio, USA, but have traveled around the US and to multiple other countries. I grew up on a farm but currently live in the city of Columbus.
Once you get to know me, I'm pretty sarcastic. I love animals and have two pets, a cat and a dog. I taught English as a second language to adults for a couple years, partly because I enjoy learning about other cultures. I love to learn, and my favorite nights are spent just hanging out with good friends.
My husband and I stay pretty active. I play volleyball and take kickboxing classes. He plays hockey and rock climbs. We both like to hike, ski and play disc golf. I also very much like to sit and watch tv or read all day. Balance, right?
We also really, really like to eat!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
My husband and I are currently traveling full time and visiting Scandinavia, Eastern Europe, Asia, Australia and New Zealand. We're hoping to get a chance to stay with locals and experience your culture!
Since I am currently traveling, I cannot accept guests. I hope to do so when I get back, but I know Ohio isn't a big tourist destination!

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: I spend most of my "listening time" with podcasts, but my favorite music is indie electronic/pop, like Passion Pit
Books: I was a literature major in college, so I love to read. I do like fiction, but I've been more into non-fiction recently. And I love a good memoir by a comedian.
Movies: I watch movies occasionally but TV more. Currently watching The Crown. Will always rewatch Parks and Recreation.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

What I Can Share with Hosts
My husband and I are good cooks. We'd gladly make you a meal in exchange for your hospitality!
If you're not a native English speaker and you're interested in practicing, I volunteered teaching English as a second language for a couple years and love helping others practice.
